Help with MMR values.

Hello all,

I've been lurking around these forums for over a year now, and wondered if I could get some help. I have an 08 Mini cooper S that I purchased new in august of 2008. Due to some recent family developments (read babies) I'm in the position where I am considering getting rid of my baby cooper to accommodate the little ones. I'm being offered 18,000 by the dealer, who claims to be going by Manheim auction values (or MMR in dealerspeak). Needless to say, this is less than my payoff. Does anyone have access to Manheim, in order to give me an idea if this a fair value for my car? It is dark silver with black stripes, has 25,500 miles, panorama roof, HK sound, leather, sport package, stability control, NAV, bluetooth. I would consider it to be in "good condition". Ie it needs new tires, and some detailing, that's it. I live in the 93306 zip code. So far, they (the dealer) seem to be 1000 dollars or so below both KBB and NADA values.

KBB is *never* used for trade-in anymore. For private sale, sure, but not for trade-in. For trade-in, dealers use either MMR or Black Book.

I am starting to get that impression. That still leaves me where I was though. If I have no access to that data, how can I be sure I'm not being low balled? I really need the MMr for peace of mind, if anything. If anyone here has access to it , I'd be deeply appreciative.

PS

I was running late for work today and was "making up time" in the Mini...gosh, I don't know how I'm going to let it go .

You have to have a log-in for access to MMR. But you can get to Black Book by this link.
