New to the Mini world.
New to the Mini world.
Well, I've finally made the plunge. Since my wife now has the Prius as her car, and the Celica wasn't very practical, I decided to get a Mini Cooper S
. I've always liked them, but assumed they'd be cramped with a lack of horsepower. Boy I was wrong! My friend had a creamy white and black one, and convinced me to start looking.
The new car has 69k miles on it and looks phenomenal.
It'll be here next week. Here's my baby! Let me know what you guys think:

Thanks guys. I was wondering about something. I've seen some people have the style grill I have but it's black, and they sell them online. I think it would be pretty sharp looking to have that, and I was wondering if it's an easy modification.
Then again, at least from what I've seen, the colored grills and no striped 'S' models don't seem to be very common.
Any advice?

One other question (since I can't make my own thread yet apparently
), what is the easiest way to play the music from my iPhone in my Mini? I know with my Prius, I have an auxiliary jack in the center console. Is there something like that on these? Thanks.

Install is easy just be careful not to break anything. You can probaly find one on this forum's "Marketplace" or maybe eBay. You can also remove it and tape the chrome grill surround and paint it a flat satin black yourself with a rattle can. There is another version called the Aero Grill for JCW Aero Kit, a bit more difficult to install on MSC specifically the lower grill. But its doable.
See Here: http://www.motoringfile.com/howto/MI...ll_install.pdf
Easiest way is a $29 Aux Input from dealer and install yourself 15-20 min job if you got a small drill.
See Here: http://www.minicarparts.net/instruct...structions.cfm
BTW- I would ignore the whole beginning section of instructions (head unit removal) and if you or someone you with smaller hand and forearms simply reaches under the left side of head unit and plug the pin in the farthest left slot.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the compliments.. makes me breathe easy that I got a good car haha.
I'll be sure to post pictures once it comes off the truck
PS: thanks "howsoonisitnow1985". I have a friend who has an 09 pepper white who'll be helping me with my mods, including the grill if I decide to do it. Every time I think I like the black honeycomb, I fall back in love with how it is stock :P. Still deciding on the stripe design....thinking of a large single stripe center, that's white, with two really thin lines on either side of that.

oem instructions state that aux input kit is for 09/02 and later? (might need an 03 and up Head Unit) Check with your dealer.

Welcome Mellow_Yellow! Great choice of colors!
Hope it comes soon so you can really catch the fever! I'm fairly certain most, if not all, of my friends, family, and co-workers, (not to mention random strangers...) are getting sick of me accosting them with MINI conversations.
And if you like horsepower, a.k.a. SPEED, the S will NOT let you down with it's acceleration and "go kart handling". Gotta love the SPORT button!!!
