Look out, here I come!
Look out, here I come!
Hello all you MINI Maniacs! Allow me to introduce myself:
My name is Steve (AKA STE92VE on the BMW forums) and I'm an enthusiast (sounds like something from an AA meeting).
As you can see from my sig, my current ride is a 2007 E92. About a year and a half ago, I had a life changing situation that required me to use my car in a way it was not intended. Instead of working from a home office, I had to commute to work on a daily basis. It's a punishing 6 miles...one way! I am now required to report to the office in all types of weather, where previously, if the weather was nasty, the E92 would just stay warm and cozy in the garage. Living on Long Island NY, we do get snow but even after a major storm, the roads are passable the next day. Having a RWD vehicle was no concern because at the time, I didn't have to drive while it was snowing, but now I don't have that luxury. Even though the E92 got me through all that Old Man Winter threw at us last year, it was still a challenge to stay safe.
Which brings me to you fine folks. Even though I don't have plans in the immediate future to part with the E92, at some point in time I am inclined to move into a MINI. Being an enthusiast, I have the need to know more about the vehicle I'm acquiring than the MA that's selling it.
So here I am. You'll find that I have a sense of humor and you won't see any posts from me asking which color combos are the best.
See you around NAM.....

I bet it would be hard to part with that E92. I'm a huge Bimmer enthusiast (Hello, my name is Chance, and I'm a....), and at this point, the MINI is as close as I can afford.
As long as it's my choice to move on, I never have a problem with getting away from one car into another. I've loved every car I have ever owned except for the 1991 Jeep Cherokee, which was also the only American engineered car I've ever owned. I was happier the day I got rid of that POS than the day I took delivery of it.

As for the Mrs, I let her pick the bags and shoes and she lets me pick the cars. It seems to be working for us.
p.s. if that's true, what are you?
BTW... for eveyone's benefit, JackMac and I are old friends who enjoy a little bantering every once in awhile and our views are strictly our own and are not meant to offend.
Now, back to my nap...
