233 posts is nothing for me. I have over 5k post on another site alone. I am week 45. I still have my current Mini...so the waiting is not so bad.

 

Like the title states,......my MINI is at the dealership! Yowza, yowza, yowza! I'm in the MINI! I'm in the MINI! La-la-la-la.......

.....oops, sorry. Got carried away. Sadly, I cannot get to the dealership until Saturday. So you all will have to wait for photo's until then (prob. Sunday).

I'm so nervous. I hope it likes me. I promise to be good to it. What should I wear? Must remember to brush/floss before hand. Garsh, I feel like High School Prom all over again.

 

Tallman...what does my posting have to do with unemployment? Found it kinda rude for you to ask that.

 

Nothing rude intended. Just theorizing. Thinking you would need a lot of time to type up all those posts. Also, its not exactly uncommon these days, for many people to be in-between-jobs.

Sigh... I was told from MA it's probably be this Friday. The OL updated with estimates delivery date. It's 11/29 this coming Sunday. I hope that will happen little bit early like Friday or Saturday

 

I hope your vehicle arrives early, also. I will be picking mine up Saturday. I am in the midst of compiling a "check list" items (all items ordered, oil level, paint finish, lights work, etc...).

A little heads up for you, Zemina. Be prepared for, ummmm, alternates. My MA called when my MINI arrived. He said the Crown Spokes came in silver, instead of the whites I ordered. He was about to over-night the whites, when I told him don't bother. I had been toying with 2nd thoughts about my energy to keep them immaculately clean (even thought about advertising a switch-eroo with someone on-line). So, actually, their little blunder turned out to be a positive for me.

I will still keep them clean, just won't have to be obsessive about them.

 

Hey guys. I've posted some pics of my new baby in my gallery. I've had her about a week now. That's strange about the delays at the VDC and the changes in your orders. Mine came in quickly and exactly as spec'd (not to gloat...).

I got $250 off from MSRP and got a floor mats, wheel bolts lock, and 2 key rings (one for me, one for wife) as freebies.

 

Nice looking vehicle, Zemina. Your wife will certainly enjoy cruising around with that. Looks like some great weather to drive off the lot with, also. Life is good, eh.

Curious, why the $250 off? Did they slightly mess up the order? Or was it for your good looks, charm, wit, and pleasant disposition?

Yep, it's really nice MINI. There was no problem with order actually everything was smooth until we get it. After ordered, I asked MA about discount and yesterday I asked MA again about discount. So we decided $250 off good enough it's better than MSRP I think

 

All the way from Oxford, England, to my driveway!

She went through the VDC quickly and the dealer prepped her quickly too, but I couldn't pick her up right away. So I'm finally picking up my baby tomorrow! So excited! Wonder if I'll be able to sleep tonight?? Whoo!

Well, here we go. Yesterday afternoon, the check engine light came on at start up. Lit constant. There are all of 341 miles on it. Still using the first tank of fuel - and yes, the fuel lid is on tight.

Called dealership. The service tech's were gone for the day. They will call back first thing Monday morning. One member of MMMC thinks they should flatbed my MINI (I live 65 miles away). Real nice start to first time ownership of a MINI. Good thing I kept my Scion xB - it is starting up and running fine for me, like it always has!

Quick update: with engine running, clicked the OBC - Set-Info/Check-Info/held for a few secs/got: CCID031. According to other threads, this is an Increased Emissions code. Ehhh, FWIW.

 

My little guy made it across the pond and came home on Friday!

Can I just say, I AM IN LOVE!

I had an awesome experience with Amanda at Southbay Mini, would recommend her to everyone. The next steps are clear bra and sport stripes.

Anyone in SOCAL area have recommendations for clear bra or sport stripes? I got a clear bra quote for $850 for the bumper and full bonnet or $550 for bumper and half bonnet. I'm leaning towards the full because I'm a little OCD. This was from a company off craigslist.

Don't have a sport stripe quote yet; am going to add them on top of the clear bra. I am wondering if I can do the stripes myself even? Anyone plan on installing themselves? If so, where are you purchasing them?
