New Guy From IL, Toyota MR-S Owner

Hey, I'm Kevin.

Joined this site to do some research on the Mini. My girlfriend of 3 years wants a Cooper S, so I told her I would look into common problems before her purchase. I just got into it, and saw some of the fire issues.

Anyway, here's my MR-S. These have issues with the 2 catalytic converters int he exhaust manifold breaking up and killing motors. Nothing a header can't fix I've owned it for just short of a year and a half.

I probably won't post a whole lot, but I figured I'd introduce myself.

Nice ride, well don't know much about fires. But here is a helpful guide:
http://www.motoringfile.com/mini-r50r53-buyers-guide/

I would suggest, 05-06 MCS (or JCW) with 6 speed.

GL looking for a MCS. I like the 2nd gen best myself, but I'm biased :P.
I love the MR2. Really like those cars, but they don't seem to catch on. (which is a good thing for you I guess. Not many have it). I'd definately get one if I had the money.

Nice car...we have a 2000 MR2 and hubby put on the Japanese MRS badging kit. He gets a lot of looks when he drives it around because there's nothing to indicate that it's a Toyota. They're fun to drive and I'm looking forward to giving him a run for his money once Clive arrives next week

We found the Midship Runabout hood emblem for the hood, wheels and steering wheel...looks kinda like this except ours have a blue background:

Makes the car seem a little more exotic, especially for people who haven't seen the MR2s in a while (or younger kids who haven't seen it at all).
