I placed a post a few weeks back about a Mini Cooper Works that I had built out. The order was not placed yet, and you all made some nice suggestions on what I should add to the order and change. I also talked about what dealer in the Los Angeles area I could go through and not get reamed! Well after many weeks I have settled on Long Beach Mini, My niece bought two Cooper S’s from them over the last six years (all at sticker). Last night I called and talked to Will Shaw a couple of times, he even called me back and e-mailed me exactly what he said he would in a timely manner. The car will be @ sticker with Tax & DMV fees total $35,978.36. I still need to work out the coast of the dealer installed options when the car gets closer. O and the delivery date is eight weeks. I was able to grab one of there open slots. The only catch is my $1000.00 deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE! If I have to pass on the car when it comes in the deposit can be used on another future purchase. The specs on the car are as follows.

South Bay Mini told me that the deposit is refundable by law. Not that I expect you to need that bit of info, because it looks like a great car. BTW you aren't getting the H/K stereo unless you wait for December or order a Camden.

The deposit thing is not a big deal at this point. I asked them about the H/K stereo twice and I was told my car will have it.

 

There are more details on this in the Week 36 Support Thread, but several MAs have confirmed in the past week that the H/K will not be available until December. Several '10s, especially those built out in late July, were scheduled for production with the H/K code as part of the premium package, so it is possible to place an order with the H/K upgrade, but those orders will not be moved on to production until the H/K systems are available (i.e., December.)

In your MA's defense, the details on this seem to be slow-moving from the factory; but those who have '10 cars in production currently have pretty much all been told that the H/K upgrades simply aren't available for any models but the Camden.

Also, I'm questioning the non-refundable deposit, too. I was told that mine is fully refundable.

 

I just called the Dealer,they are looking into the H/K stereo.
