Y2K - just a little more to reassure you that your car will make it aboard the Electra. I just now checked the Owners' Lounge to see how Twiggy was doing. Even though the Porgy left over 24 hours ago, the website says Twiggy is still "awaiting transport" to the dock. With the ASK-MINI call center down for the weekend, I tried the automated line - I was sure it would reflect the fact Twiggy sailed yesterday. Wrong! It said "your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." If the automated line updates once a day at noon England time, then it should have said my car was on the way to the USA.

So, forget about checking anything this weekend - wait until Monday morning and call the live desk and you will probably be pleasantly surprised to hear your MINI is either at the port or waiting for a train.

 

I thought that was expected, to lose the near real-time tracking once it clears the channel until it gets closer to land again.

But it has been sending pings every 6/12 hours or so...

I found this for Port Hueneme - it does not show the time of arrival, but it shows the Porgy will arrive on September 18th. Look at the entry for September 4th - the Morning Celestra left Southampton on August 14th (we west-coasters would have been on that ship except for the 2-week factory closure). Interestingly, the Port Hueneme schedule lists the number and kinds of cars on the ship.

Y2K wrote that he thought the Undine's arrival have moved back a day to September 4th. Since that schedule only shows part of Sept. 4th, we might see the Undine appear a little later.

 

Beats me. Also, note that the schedule shows 574 vehicles on the Morning Celesta - but only shows details for 244 of them. Maybe the other 330 cars are destined for Tacoma and/or Japan?

 

I think the call sign for the Porgy is 3EZS8 (not 2EZS8). But, it still does not show any updated position since last night when it was just south of Plymouth England (at the "A" on the attached map):

Well, FINALLY after ALL THIS TIME, arriving in the Paint Shop on Thursday, a call to ASK-MINI automated this morning confirms that my Mini is now..!!!!!!

Elektra is on the final stop before Southampton, in Zebrugge. Found a webcam at the docks there, but not located where you could see the ships. You see cranes in the distance, but... oh well.

i' m just curious. Do they have a name for the sickness you people exhibit. Mini' s are not that " cool ", and driving them is sooo boring. I have more fun driving a 40 ft. school bus around the lake......

I love WW! My new clubman is on the Elektra and waiting to depart. Set to depart on the 1st of Sept and arrive on the 10th in New Jersey! (like most people, they call north jersey, new york)

So, kenc is SCHEDULED to be on the Elektra, right? Unless they drove it to Belgium, you're not on it yet.

I linkified a link to the Elektra which should be good to track her for the next, oh, 4-5 days in my sig. Then we'll see if she goes undercover like the Porgy, or pings every 6 hours like the Undine.

 

Y2K - I just checked the status of Twiggy on the ASK-MINI automated line. She is still "at the port of exit waiting for a shipping vessel." I can only imagine the depressed state I would be in today if this thread hadn't given me the tool to track my car and verify it had in fact been loaded on the Porgy on Friday. So, now that we know the ASK-MINI hotline is not updated on weekends, you need to go to bed early tonight so you can get up early tomorrow and talk to a live person - I'm sure you will hear your car is done and waiting for the train ride to the dock.

 

It's an interpretation thing without knowing the exactness of their tracking. Since it was received at the terminal it will be going on the boat when it arrives and, therefore, can be assumed to be on the boat.

Oh, I was just nit-picking.... I try and be nice (and quiet) when I see folks say stuff like last week when someone said "The Undine left today..." when it had left a few days before. But I'm getting to the end of my rope.



Who's got two thumbs and was JUST told by ASK-MINI that he is still in the Paint Shop (since 8/27)?

Elektra has departed Zebrugge, and is steaming away at 15.8 knots to Southampton! Congrats all of you waiting patiently there for her...

 

The live ASK-MINI message still says my MINI is waiting at the dock for a ship - but the lady said they do not receive any information about when a car is loaded on a ship. Thankfully, we know how to track the VIN on the WWL website.
