Newbie and Still Dreaming of First Mini 2010?
Newbie and Still Dreaming of First Mini 2010?
Hello Everyone:
I'm new and so glad I found this forum before I purchase my first! This might be a strange question, but when do the 2010 models arrive at the dealers? My closest dealer - St. Louis. MO seems to have alot - and I mean alot - of 2009's. So. it makes me wonder, do I order a 2010 MINI S with all of the stuff I want, or buy one off the lot and add everything I want? And, would I get a better deal buying the 2009?
Thanks!
Denise

2010's will start to build about mid-September (that's when they started in 2008) Delivery to dealers will take 2-4 weeks depending on what part of the country and shipping schedules, so anytime from late Sept. to mid-October.
Deals on 2009 will be dependant on each dealer's managing of inventory. My local dealer (W. Michigan) is getting low on 09's so probably not. Others have offered $1500 off on Cooper S and up to $3500 on JCW, but these discounts are not common, $500-$1000 would be a bit more typical, but truly varies all over. Options installed at factory are generally less expensive, but some dealers will "deal" on these things too. So really it just depends on the individual dealer. Maybe some NAM people from the St. Louis area will chime in here and give you info or experience from your local dealer.

I just placed an order last friday for a new 2010 Clubman, they said production starts early Sept. They were willing to deal on inventory they had in stock, there were 9 Clubman in stock and a lot more Coopers. Don't expect much discount ordering a 2010 unless your dealer is really hurting. Are you willing to own a car 3-8 years that doesn't really have the features you want just to save $1000 extra?
