Finally got my dream car!

I have waited 30 years for a yellow car and on Friday I picked up my new IY S convertible. I'm still pretty excited over the whole experience so this may be a very rambling post.

30 years ago I had a choice between a red and yellow Ford Fiesta and choose the red one because it was $100 cheaper. How much times have changed! Since that time I've always wanted a yellow car, but in all those years never managed to get one. A year ago I decided I would part with 'The Coop,' my 2005 MCS 'vert, and started looking for a yellow one. I searched and searched and couldn't find what I was looking for. When the '09's came out I thought I would buy one off the lot. But after all that time of wishing and planning I had pretty specific requirements. Finally on 4-4-09 I gave in and ordered my dream Mini.

It took a while to get here, but I think the wait is worth it. I love this one! There are so many upgrades from my '05 and I love the color!

I must give a big thanks to everyone who posted in the "Track you Mini" thread. Although this is my first post, I read and reread that thread. It made the time between order and receipt tolerable.

Congrats!!! My mom is wanting to get rid of her 330CI 'vert for the same car you just got.

I'm curious as to why it took two and a half months to get it from your order...?

It seemed I ran into delays at every step of the way. I missed an earlier production slot by a few hours, which put me 2 weeks behind at the start. Production moved along quite well, but it sat at the port for almost a week waiting for the ship to depart. The trip across the ocean went well with no delays, but after being unloaded it sat for another week waiting for transportation to the dealer.
Once it finally arrived at the dealer I was able to pick it up the next day. But it seemed I waited for years on this car instead of 10 weeks!
