Hello all. I've got a question that I've hesitated posting for a while but I figured I might as well ask (I used the search function and couldn't find what I was looking for).

I picked my MCSa off the lot and I was wondering if there were anyway to determine all of the information that I would have normally gotten if I had ordered her. Right now I'm content with the date that I brought her home but is there anyway I can find out what her actual "birthdate" is (build date, along with when she was shipped and delivered to the dealer)?

I would think that as long as you have your VIN you should be able to use the steps in the Tracking your MINI thread here:

You will definitey want to call 866-ASK-MINI. They'll be able to tell you build info. If you can't find the boat info online, try asking your MA.

Depending how long ago it was built and shipped you should be able to get most, if not all, of the info as you would have gotten if ordering.

Let us know what info you find out. It might prove valuable to someone else who may want to do the same as you.

I was able to get the build information from my MINI 4 years after it was built by emailing MINI. They provided its birthdate and full option list.

I had a chance to call 1 (866) ASK-MINI today and sure enough the guy who answered (very friendly, btw) was able to give me her birthdate (or build date, if you rather). He said that I'd have to contact my MA to learn more about the shipping/docking information. As soon as I post this, I'm going to send my MA an email and see what he can dig up.

I really didn't think I'd be able to get any of this information, I'm amazed!

Congrats on getting the build info. For shipping info, try searching for your VIN on the ww site. If you don't find it there it's possible it came over on a K Line ship. What was the bday?

Very nice spec, btw! The CW and Prem packages are a must at our house for sure!!! Enjoy the car!!!
