I am going to order one. I have a couple that I designed from Miniusa.com but now I have to just narrow it down. So hard, LOL. What did you do?

I'm an old fart who has had many cars. I've taken good care of them mechanically, but the aesthetics have never been much concern (read: I'd run them through a self-spray wand wash and one-cycle vacuum when I was going on a date).

The MINI is the first car I have felt deserved TLC. I wash, wax, detail her each week. Wife can't believe.

You can believe you're joining a very special group of enthusiasts. There are those that have bought MINIs recently for unemotional reasons. They are MINI drivers. From the tenor of your comments, you're joining the rest of us.

I ordered a MINI and the specs are in my sig. I had to order because my build is pretty particular. I tried to keep the price down while making sure I'd still be happy with the car (thank you Lounge Leather ).

My advice would be to avoid rushing into ordering it. Take several trips to the dealer and check out different MINIs with different options and make sure you are satisfied with your order before making it official with your MA. The last thing you would want is buyer's remorse on a +25k car that you had to wait 8-10 weeks to drive.

I don't mean to scare you. Just pick what feels right and would make you smile each time you see your MINI.

@rrcaniglia, that sounds wonderful!! I am so excited to be here, and you made my day!

@robovega, that totally makes sense. I have to go down and test drive one as well. I just started the process of looking. I really love the red, but that color seems to be everywhere. I also like the dark blue color. LOL I need to see them upclose in person to make any decisions.

BTW, our MINIs are identical except I didn't get the checkered roof. Have checkered scuppers on the sides and checkered hub centers on the wheels. Great fun, but I have to be careful how I drive because everyone in my smallish town immediately knows who is next to them.

As someone once said, "Smile and wave, boys. Just smile and wave." That's my motto.

Welcome to the world of MINI love little friend.

I adopted both of mine. The first one was "on the boat" headed somewhere else and the 2nd one was sitting at the dealership in Houston surviving Hurricane Ike.

I thought I wanted the blue, too, until I saw it in person. It looks darker online. I wish it were more of a midnight blue. Oh, well - that was ultimately the decision-maker to go with BRG for me.

Horizon Blue is very misleading on the computer screen and in print materials. In person, it seems a bit washed out compared the the deep, rich color you see online. Still nice, just not what I personally expected. Despite that, I'm in LOVE with Horizon Blue/Hot Chocolate Lounge Cabrio.

I feel the opposite way with Sparkling Silver. The color looks horrid in print, and quite dull on the configurator. In person though, I think its a very classy choice.

I had too hard of a time picking out what I wanted, the test drives were too short, I would go to the dealership and take pics and download them so I could check out them out at my own pace.... then I found me a deal on a used one 08 MCS I have had it for about 2 months now...driving one helped me as far as picking out what I wanted. now my new MINI just got off the boat in Brunswick and I should see it by the end of the week....(see is a key word) they have to add stuff when it gets here so I wont get it for a few days after that trading in the used one, the dealership is giving me what I paid for it, so I don't have to mess with selling it. side note: some options they put on at the dealership, those options don't have to be decided on until your mini gets here.. have fun this group will help you get through it all

IMO I think you should just wait for the Mini SUV.... then you can get this fantastic paint job on your Mini...
