Just joined this forum even though I've been browsing since early april when I was deciding to purchase a MINI cooper or a ford focus. I read many threads and car reviews, and am now a very happy owner of a 2009 chili red cooper. A big thank you for the information I was able to collect on this forum. it really helped me in deciding to test drive a MINI...

I couldn't be happier with my new car. I use to hate, hate, hate, hate (stressed enough?) driving, and the thought made me cranky and anxious. Now, I find myself racing to the car key and car, before my sister can get in the driver's seat. I just can't get enough behind the wheel time with my new MINI. It makes my long commute fun.

Since I have bought my MINI, I am finding my interest for the car growing from the mild "ah, aren't they cute little cars" attitude I first developed when I visited London, to "shrieking obsessive" MINI enthusiast. I even bought a miniature mini cooper chili red with white top and white bonnet strips, just like mine to sit on my desk at work. I'm hoping this is just a normal sort of progression MINI owners develop. If its not, well, its still all good.

Anyways, nice to meet you all. Any one else around chandler/tempe arizona?

 

Congrats on your new ride . I have had mine Mini for over a month now and its the best car i have ever had fun to drive ! I see you live in Arizona and i know its hot there . My new Mini is leaking some stuff out the bonnet that they use to ship the car from england for sea salt . It is oozing every where and looks like bees wax . Hope it does not happen to your car . I have to wash my car everyday now to keep it under control . Looks like you got a sweet car . Happy motoring !

Welcome aboard Redkiwi. You should get in touch with the DMC (Dynamic MINI Club) down there. They are a great group of MINI enthusiasts. I'm up in Prescott, or I would be with them at all the events. There is also an Arizona MINI Club in Phoenix. They get together for workshops, breakfasts, etc. The DMC is more active.
The MINI world is the best. I've never loved any of my cars like I love my CR CLubman.

 

Ah, that sounds kind of fun, joining a motoring club. Hope they wont find a fresh out of college single gal. Do they have a website? and thanks for the heads up. Didnt even know they had mini clubs :0

I'll actually be motoring up to Prescott for memorial day. I love it up there.

@ onetigerlsu..oh my! Ive not had that problem with my mini, but I hope you get that straightened out. I'd be hauling the mini to the dealer.

 

You have any pics of your new Mini ? I wanted a Chill Red One but they did not have one at dealership when i got mine and i did not want to wait ! I purchased a Lighting Blue but love the Chill Red Mini ! Do you have Bonnet stripes ? Happy Motoring

To find the Dynamic Mini Collective go to the Clubs regional forum here.Go to the West Section and Dynamic Mini Collective is there. It has a lot of younger people compared to the Arizona Mini Owners Club. It is a great group of guys and gals. I hope you contact them as it is such fun to be with others who love and appreciate these cars.
