Hi, I am new to the forum. I believe my Mini is on the Otello. The waiting is killing me since I ordered the end of Feb. Anyone else on the Otello?

 

I was a week 15 production. And it looks like the Otello is due in NY around the 24th. Anyone have any idea how long it takes to get from NY to the dealer. My dealer is in NJ. Thanks to this board I have been able to really track this order. The exictement is building!

 

Yes......I ordered my Pure Silver "Silvio", MCS on March 28th.

It was supposed to be a week 16 build according to my MA here in FL but not complaining at all that it got bumped up a bit.

Completed the build 4/8...... Loaded on to the ship 4/14.

Not sure if it is Otello or Othello, I have seen it spelled both ways, but here are 2 links that are tracking the journey.... Due to dock in NY/Jersey area 4/24 according to this site;

Mine is also on the Otello. I placed my order on March 30 and the dealer said it would be built in week 16, but it was completed on April 8 which I guess makes it a week 15.

I believe the ship actually docks in NJ so the wait to a NJ dealership shouldn't take more than a few days. Although my MA said the more cars that arrive the longer it takes to sort them out and finally get them to your dealer.

 

The WW tracking form has a different name than the Sailwx site. But I think they are the same ship. Your right, the ship comes into Newark, NJ. I was hoping it might make it in earlier to make this weekend a possibility. But I think early next week is more realistic. I have heard 48 hours is the best case at the VDC. I guess it is time to contact the MA. I can't wait, I feel like a kid at Christmas.

 

What I find interesting is that I ordered mine the end of Feb. I am not sure what made me go into to production so late. But anyway, it is on its way.

 

My guess is that your dealer did not have any scheduled open slots for production for your model until end of March. When I ordered mine, the dealer had to go online to see what dates he had scheduled for MCS production.

Apparently, they order certain amount to sell off their lots and special orders have to be scheduled according to their overall allotments.....so some dealers may have immediate productions dates available while others may not.

Anyway, they are crossing the Atlantic and your wait will be shorter than mine by a long week or two because I am in FL.

 

That makes sense. You are right. They are almost here.

 

What dealer in NJ did you buy yours Web? My good friends dad bought his in morristown. My dealer in westchester doesnt have a very big showroom, and since I'll be in nj on saturday I was thinking of going by morristown as I heard they have a big lot with mini's.

 

I have not been to Morristown, even though I work 5 minutes from there. I ordered from Princeton. They don't have a huge showroom. Great staff, but not that big a facility.

 

My new MCS Oliver is on the Otello. I placed the order March 25, and is scheduled to arrrive at the port in Georgia on April 28th. I hope that he is enjoying his journey on the ship across the pond, making friends, and enjoying pina coladas (but not spilling on the Red Lounge Leather). Hopefully his road trip from GA to Miami doesnt take too long... Im having Mini withdrawl. (Oliver is a replacement for a totaled Chester Chadwick, a 06 R53)

 

Congrats. I still haven't thought of a name yet. I like Oliver for a name. And since this is your second mini I guess you can have "some more". sorry...

It looks like the ship is behind schedule. It was supposed to arrive in Hailfax wednesday, as of this morning it listed an arrival for today.

 

katrina1581, Did your MA give you an ETA? Mine just said, I will call you when it arrives. Just surprised it almost a week since it arrived in NJ, and I am only an hour from VDC.

Just picked up my car today from Westchester Mini. I got a call from my dealer Tuesday that it was in.

 

Congrats. I just called, it looks like mine arrived today. My MA is out of Fridays. They are trying to arrange pick up for tomorrow. Can't wait. It took me 2 months. What did you get?

 

Pepper White MC with manual transmission. Body color roof and mirrors. Only options were Hi-Fi stereo and Multi function steering wheel. I ordered it on March 30.

Got to cruise around a bit while it wasn't raining. Great car, you're gonna like it!

My MA called today and said it should be in tomorrow (yippie!!!)... im crossing my fingers

 

my wifes conv ( MCS in interchange yellow) just arrived on the otello. dropped off in NY/NJ on saturday. We will be picking it up at Otto's Saturday morning . sounds like our cars have already met.

 

It's great that they are finally here. It's 1am and I can't sleep thinking about it! I just want to butter it up with a nice coat of polymer sealant and top it off with a wax.

 

yippie!!! Oliver has arrived! I picked him up this morning and drove around grining ear to ear. He is hot.... even the MAs were giving me props for such a great customization job Taking him for another spin now... will post pics soon.

Nice looking car. We picked ours up on sat. morning in the rain but did get to drive with the top down later in the day.
