I am one of those trying to address the issue of not having gotten the Mini with the rear fog lights in the first place. I have read through the threads and options for addressing this. Getting the lights from someone like outmotoring.com sounds like a winner. Dealing with installing the toggle switch is not somewhere I want to go. That leaves hooking up the new lights to something existing or nothing. I have seen some threads related to hooking the lights up to the brake light. My idea was to splice them in to the front fog lights. My logic is that the only time I would want to use the rear fog lights is when I was using the front fog lights. At least it makes sence to me. Has any one tried this connection? Does anyone see any downside? Thanks in advance.

seems like easy mod, look under fog light toggle and splice wire leading to the rear fogs. the pita would be tucking the wire away from site. I added an 02-04 reverse light (with a brighter bulb) and spliced it to my exsisting reverse lights on tails. Now turning anound on one lane canyon road with 100ft drop is a cinch.

 

Any luck with this? I've been thinking of doing the same thing....
