Side ding protection and door guard
Side ding protection and door guard
I searched "door guard" and didn't get much.
I found this
http://www.customautotrim.com/produc...dings/door.htm
Does anybody use anything else to protect the side from dings?
It seems like there are two types of dings.
1)the long cooper door swinging out and smacking into things like other cars, walls etc. The trim thing link above seems like it would fix that.
2) other car doors smacking into coopers.
All I can think of is some kind of rubber strip to run along the side.
Anybody use anything like that?
I heard somewhere
there was a clear "super wax" that you painted on ??

I have adopted the gokartride operational parking strategy checklist for **** retentive, MOCD sufferers. So far, it has worked swimmingly...
...probably just jinxed myself...
IMO, you're wasting your time with those door guard things. There will always be vehicles with doors that are higher and lower than your guard. So if you're going to get dings, you're going to get dings.
Besides, those aftermarket door guards are ugly as sin.
Like the others have said, the best bet is to be park strategically and lessen your chances of getting dings.
Now, to protect the edge of your doors from your own mistakes... opening them into objects... use clearbra film. Just a thin piece, about 3/8 of an inch wide, along the edge of your doors, will save you from most of the damage you could do. The pro that installed my clearbra did that for me.
