Greetings all! I am hoping to place an order for my first MINI in a couple days, and finally got around to registering here after lurking for quite a while. I've wanted a MINI for years, and finally have the financial freedom and old-enough kids to do so. I drove an SVT Focus a few years ago that I got rid of when my second child was born, and it was fun, but wasn't what I really wanted. Now, after driving a couple fairly staid Saturns the last few years, it's MINI time. So, while the wait for my car will be tedious, I don't think it'll be that bad, since I've already waited several years to start with...

Thanks, all. I will have to sign up at michiganmini,org as well. Placed my order today, so the long countdown begins! My MA told me if I was jonesing for a drive to come by and I could take one of the test drive cars out for a spin, but its probably better to go cold turkey until my car arrives...I don't want to drive out there every day, after all.

 

Depending where you're at in MI, I'm sure someone would take you for a spin (literally, maybe ). The MMMC planning meeting is the 7th and you can find out everything that's going on this year and meet lots of friendly folk.

I am now in that waiting period before finding out a production date; I did apparently get a production date that someone else abandoned, so that was good news if it means I'm getting my car a little sooner. I ordered a Chili Red MCS with black bonnet stripes, roof and mirrors, Sport and Cold Weather packages, 17" web spoke wheels, limited slip differential, comfort access, auto AC, rooster red seats with red color line, piano black interior surface, and anthracite headliner, and JCS carbon bonnet scoop.
