Ok, Who is going to get the 1st 2009 MCS with sports package?
Week 49 seem to be the official 1st week of the build but lets see who actually gets the keys 1st!

Since I'm West Coast of the US and there's no boat showing for a few weeks I'm out!

 

I was just checking out a 09 with Sports Package yesterday at the dealer

 

That must have been just Sport Suspension, a JCW, or an 08. I ordered a Cooper Clubman with the Sport package on Nov 30 and my MA said mine will be the first non-JCW Cooper at their dealership with DTC. Delivery to NorCal is expected in February (may be sooner though - it started production before the shutdown).

 

It was a 09 with DTC, Sports Package, etc

JCW though.

 

We know the JCW is offered, but the first MC/MCS' with DTC/eLDC ever produced just finished production and are just hitting the soil in Europe and in the next couple weeks in the USA...

 

Yeah, I'm with lilliux... it's going to be one of you two that get the first '09 MC/MCS w/ Sports Package. I mean, lilliux has already seen hers!

As far as US-bound cars, go, though... I don't know of any Sport Package '09's that were completed before mine, and as far as I know, I'm the only '09 Sport Package car that made it onto the Undine. It's mostly Week 48 cars on the boat with our MINI.

Of course, NAM is a relatively small sample size, so there's a good possibility that there are others out there, but I don't KNOW of any... and they would have to be completed BEFORE the first official day of Week 49 or maybe early the first day.

Also, someone living in the North East on the NEXT boat (the Maersk Wind, IIRC) may still receive their SP '09 before I get mine in FL.

However, as soon as the Undine hits Nova Scotia, I'm calling my little OB MINI the "very Unofficial First Sport Package '09 MINI in North America"

I wonder if there's any way to confirm that, though?

I suppose SOMEONE at BMW/Oxford Plant would have a master list of the cars built and could say for certain which was the first SP '09 built for NA.


Perhaps I care way too much about this! But, with our MINI on the boat, what else am I supposed to do?

 

Is there even a Sports Package for the factory JCW?

It doesn't currently list one on the configurator

That's a peculiar question, since it's obvious we do, thus why we are discussing it...
