Hi all! Wish I found this forum and thread earlier. It's been a long few months since I placed my order. Anyone else happen to be taking delivery at MINI of Sterling? I'm hoping to see my little guy before Christmas.

Hey, another Sport Package car on the Undine!

I'm sure there are more, but I don't KNOW of any.

Any idea when your production completed?

Same here... but I don't know for sure which day, either.

Maybe I'll call our MINI the "very Unofficial first Sport Package 2009 MINI Cooper (non-S) in North America... to be safe

Ahmed Shaker. I'm sure it's a little soon to know, but do you have any idea what kind of timeframe we're looking at for delivery?

Sad news (for me)...

It seems my MINI isn't actually on the Undine.

As of Dec. 2 (the day the Undine left SH), the WW website said that the UNDINE was my MINI's ride, but I guess the website was wrong. Now, the website says it's on the Maersk Wind. I never would have even checked again if it weren't for my dealer telling me it was on the Maersk Wind, today.

So, our MINI is still out in the Atlantic between SH and Halifax, and it's not scheduled to reach GA until the 23/24.

I guess it won't be getting here in time for Christmas or in time for the road trip we planned to begin the 26th based on wrong information.

Oooohh Nooooooo!! Wow, what a disappointing piece of news. I am sorry that this affects your trip too.

Now I am wondering if my little Sloopy is really in the states?????

Going now to do some researching. In a way that would be a much better proposition for me since my current lease is worrying me a bit.

Somebody else is on that ship,,, will have to look that up also!

That sucks. I'm sure you're really disappointed. I know I'd be spitting nails. I'm almost reluctant to say that I'm picking up my car tomorrow at 1pm.

Hopefully Sloopy really is on it's way to you... and hopefully no one else is in a similar situation.

Well, I'm pretty disappointed. Under normal circumstances, a few days isn't a big deal, but I already planned to take the trip, told some friends I was planning to come (it's a Wedding Party, primarily), and even went as far as to drive 2 hours each way to purchase an extra set of wheels and all-season tires last night to make the trip.

I mean, it's probably still *theoretically* possible for it to get here in time, but it's looking pretty grim.

Almost as annoying as the fact that it's "delayed" is that I don't know who's fault it is, really. Is it my fault for not rechecking the WW website to see if they SWITCHED the boat that my MINI was on? Is it MINI's fault for not getting the MINI there on time for it's scheduled boat? Is it WW's fault for not putting my MINI on the UNDINE even though it was there the day that the boat departed? Is it my MA's fault because they didn't give me the CORRECT info and that they ASSURED me I would have it in plenty of time for Christmas?

Who knows...

Anyway, good luck, raff! And definitely post some pictures tomorrow

Awww,, it is just too bad that it had to happen. Especially since you have your plans all set and we all thought our mini's were near.
I swear if I could I would have traded my car's place with yours. Really.....

Aww, what a major disappointment!
When is the new ship due into port now?
And have you let your MA know of your plans so they at least prioritize you if the ship makes it in on time?

I'm bummed for you.

I want mine before Christmas, but I don't need it.

I hope something good happens and you get her in time.

Thanks for the empathy and well-wishes!

I really hope it gets here in time, too... but either way, it's not the end of the world. Certainly, there are much worse things than a late MINI.

I would say that it should be at MOS by the end of the week so you possibly could have a Friday or Saturday delivery at the earliest. If he does not contact you by the end of the week I would send him an email.

Thanks EMY-RDL. I'll keep my fingers crossed for this weekend.

Best of luck to you Blainestang, that's some tough news.

Since I'm piggybacking on you guys "Undine" thread this long, I'm just going to continue... My car was released to transporter today so it's probably on its way to HC in Boston.
Since I live in Maine and am trading my current car in, it complicates things, though. The dealer can't give me a temp tag; Maine doesn't have temp tags; I have to sign all the papers and have the dealer do the registration (because I'll have a lienholder) before I can take the car. They said I can come in and sign everything this weekend and they'll ship the car up to me after they get it all registered.
How hard is that going to be to go there this weekend, see her, inspect her, sign all the paperwork and then drive home in my old car???

And then, next week is Christmas week and their runner guy only comes to Maine DMV one day per week so I may not get the car before Christmas.
Blainestang, we can cry in our beer together. Bwaahhhhhhh

What a weird system.

You'd think that they would have sold cars to people in Maine before (if there isn't a dealer in Maine) and would have figured out how to do this smoothly.

Personally, I think there's some kind of conspiracy against Oxygen Blue MINI's being delivered by Christmas!

Well, yah, they are one of two choices for people in Maine so I would expect it could be a little smoother.
I guess the alternative is for me to make two trips down there; one to sign all the paperwork, then after they do the registration, another trip to pick up the car. I may go that route depending on how long I have to wait for them to deliver, but I think that's mostly going to depend on the schedule of their runner and what day he comes to Maine.

Got my car today!!!!

Had some awesome people at work do me some favors so I could drive it home; sure the plastic is still on the seats, stickers in the windows and cardboard on the floors but it was worth it. Tomorrow the car should get its pre-delivery cleaning when all of that stuff is removed. It should also get a union jack on the roof within a week or so.

Attached pictures is just after my MINI left the truck, once the weather is not so crappy I will take some more legitimate ones.
