New Member Intro from NVA
Hello! New member here from Northern Virgina. My wife and I currently own a 2005 convertible S but this is actually our 2nd MINI. First was an '04 S Coupe in BRG, black top with black stripes we bought in December 2003. Great car but we fell in love with the convertibles and traded it in on a 2005 Cool Blue, blue top, factory aero equipped S in April of '06. It was bought "new" from MINI of Sterling but was an executive car with about 500 miles on it. It's now got over 30K on it!
Just found this site when searching for some MINI audio info - I have not found the answer yet, but I think I will with a little more site searching. Looks like a great resource here.
One quick story - my wife and I had a blast on a cross country trip this summer from Virginia to Colorado to Texas and back. First time we took the MINI on a real long distance trip. We usually travel in an SUV and take along a lot of luggage, golf clubs, etc. This time with no kids going along we decided to pack lightly (VERY lightly) and take the MINI. We drove probably 75% of the time with the top down. What a blast! We only put the top up during rain or during the very hot part of the day. We put a soft car top carrier inside the MINI with the seats folded down so things wouldn't blow out. Worked very well.
Anyway, looking forward to participating in the forums.
The pic is when we first got it. It's got 17-inch S-Lites on it now. I'll need to take some newer photos . . .

Welcome to the NAM family from a fellow Virginian. Beautiful car. I'm sure it's nice to have the wind blowing in your hair.
Looks like you have the perfect car for a trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the fall colors, although the colors seem to be a bit lacking this year (IMHO).
Happy Motoring - Chuck

Thanks for the welcomes!
CH - Yes, we've been on the Parkway several times. Usually pick it up at Front Royal and drive south to Harrisonville, have lunch, and reverse the trip. The curves are fun both directions! Bet we did not get a chance to see the colors this year.
Gromit and Siki - It was too late when we got the first one!
Red (or do your prefer Dragoon?) - Yes it was a great trip. We hope to do it again.
