I'm a little late in the introducing myself, I'm the happy owner of a 2006 Cooper now with 33K miles, living in the DC area. The only fault I have with the car is it has more grip then go, so today I solved that problem by ordering an '09 JCW, now I just can sit here and impatiently wait . Oh well at least I can console myself, by driving the '06 until then.

Congrats on your order, and yeah, a MINI is a good consolation.

yea, I love my '06. Upgraded it to the SS+ w/the Koni yellow adjustable shocks, firm ride, but a hoot in the corners. Was trying to figure out a way to swing keeping it and the JCW, just can't do it...hate to let her go

Yea, it's a lot easier to do with a Mini, being that they hold their resale value so well. Now I just hope I don't sell mine too fast, and get stuck driving our old Impala

I feel your pain, but at least the wait won't be QUITE so bad while you can still drive the '06. I was in the same boat -- I had an '04 MCS and wanted the turbo so I ordered an '07 MCS (I was creative : I ordered the EXACT same color and options)....It almost killed me to sell my '04 -- the husband made me do it. But at least I could take my time and sell it to a guy who was as enthusiastic about it as I was.

Welcome!

I know what you mean about the color...I did the same thing, chili red (CR?, still learning my acronyms ), but went with black roof instead of white this time. Biggest argument me and the wife had was over the color of this one (I think she likes the color, she just want all the neighbors to KNOW we got a new car) I love my '06. hate to sell it, but just can't swing both cars, oh well, better one mini then no minis

Well, for what it's worth, you might want to try selling it here on NAM...

Congrats on the impending JCW. Wheee!

I know the problem of selling the "trade-in" too soon. I thought it would take a long time and I might get stuck with a panic sale to a broker for my current ride so I put it on Craigslist and stuck a sign in it. The second day after I put a sign it, I sold it at asking price to a delightful couple who flagged me down in a supermarket parking lot. So now I'm walking and carpooling for the next month. Given diesel prices I don't think the RV is a reasonable 'fall back' vehicle
