Loud -

Congrats and good luck this evening with the delivery of your baby. Nice color choice. I have not seen too many BRG/BRG MINIs around, so we are a somewhat unique group. Love the Aero kit. Can't wait to see more pics and hear about your delivery experience.

Happy Motoring - Chuck

Too Much Fun

Picked up Naz on Friday. Transaction smooth and painless, in and out in less than an hour (lot of people picking up cars, mostly BMW's). Got the windows tinted on Sat and my JCW steering wheel install too. Sunday as spent washing and waxing (4 coats of Zaino's so far) and installing the red interior lights. Thinking of changing his name to "Wee Red Beastie"

Great car Draik!

Good idea getting the Zaino on right away! My Zaino arrives tomorrow so i'll be getting at least 2 coats on before we head to Vermont on November 10th.
A question on the JCW steering wheel - does it have the multifunction stuff on it?

Steve

Beautiful choices guys! I've finally parked long enough to get on the computer and catch up on my fellow week 38-ers. I'm really sorry to hear Don & Rose are still without MINI Rose.

When I picked up my car I already felt bonded with it. Any of you feel that way? It was kind of how I feel after owning a car for a while, roadtripping and making memories together. I know I'm a car-geek but I didn't expect to feel that way and was pleasantly surprised.

Keep updating the galleries!

Steve, the multifunction buttons transfer over to the JCW wheel, but there are on CF inserts for the surround on the buttons (at this time) but you can get the lower insert. Took about 30 minutes to install. Feels and look great and is slightly smaller than the stock wheel.

We're going to sit right here with you all until Mini Rose is home and in your hot little hands. I don' t think one of our MA's in Nashville has HIS car yet & he's a week 38 build too- his wife's car has come in- but his hasn't.

We're here with you, so you're not totally alone-
Vivi

Thanks, Jenan. I appreciate the compliment. Even I was surprised at how the interior turned out. I knew it would look good, but it really exceeded my expectations. Penfold is my daily driver (abt 70 miles R/T each day) so I wanted to be comfortable long term. I wanted to have the lumbar adjustment which required a seat upgrade. The Tuscan was the obvious choice for the BRG skin. I rationalized that it wasn't too horribly expensive for a 10-year car, and getting English Oak trim (included with the leather) further decreased the 'cost' of the upholstery.

BTW, Duncan's interior sure looks sharp. I love the stitching on the lounge leather (even better than on mine). I also like the shot of Mouse in your gallery. I hope he is enjoying his new home.

Chuck

Getting the English Oak trim included was the deciding factor for me to pay the extra for lounge leather, too. I think it looks great. Even my 16 yr old son, who is sort of oblivious, said, WOW mom, wood trim?

Good job! I'm envious of your wheels. I ordered the standard Clubman wheels but have an extra set of 16" Bridgespokes to put on it...but I still like yours better. Sharp looking car.

Mini Rose has been found and it still sitting at the VPC. No idea when she will arrive at the dealer but the dealer has talked to the area manager to try and get several of his customers car delivered. Sounds like we are at the end of the line and keep getting moved back. Just read a post were one Mini arriving at the VPC 5 days after ours has been delivered to the new owner. At this point any enjoyment from the delivery has been destroyed. Hopefully Rosemary will forget all about this after she get a chance to do some bonding with Mini Rose..

Mini Rose is home, safe and sound. To celebrate we spent yesterday in the mountains playing. Mini Rose was great and handled herself well. When we got home we had to wash off the bugs and brake dust. For some reason Rosemary had a lot of errands to run today.
Lil Blue Coop is on the Western Hwy heading to SC. due in 11/13.
Thanks all for the concern and well wishes. All the problems have started to fade and Mini Rose has already got some new accessories.

Way to go Mini Rose.

Your news is just fantastic. I hope that all the waiting and worrying has evaporated quickly with her first few outings. We are a very fortunate bunch of folks who actually get the chance to follow our builds every step of the way (even when our babies are "lost" for a while). It makes our car buying experience a bit more personal, a bit more fun, and a bit more frustrating along the way. But in the end, we have a perfect addition to the family, and we have an experience that very few others have. Enjoy your new ride, and enjoy Lil Blue Coop when he arrives to join his sister in your garage.

Happy Motoring - Chuck
