Still no news on passage yet. Do you think one of our MINIs got busted trying to smuggle some race fuel onboard and they're all in "time out" now?

 

Well, ASK MINI now tells me that I am "In Transit." I'm thinking maybe I made it onto the Caribbean Highway. Yay !!!

 

Funny. My MINI has been on the Tombarra for 4 days and ASK MINI still tells me it's at the port awaiting a shipping vessel.

Honey is on the boat and headed to SC, we are excited. She should be here in the states on the 22nd or 23rd.

I am the same, although I have no details beyond the "In Transit" status. I am guessing we are on the KLine as well. It would be nice to know specifics, but I guess for now I will settle for getting off the dock.

Congrats. The OL and ASK-MINI still says I am awaiting transport. WW tracking confirms I am on the Tombarra.

 

Does anyone know the Integrity's Call number?? BB is grown very impatient

I'm pretty sure Lord Rybo, Folic Acid and I are the proud parents of stowaways! (At least I know for sure I am and I'm betting it was Lord Rybo's Clubman's idea, he's a total trouble maker!) Coopdy, is your MINI running with our hooligans?

I got confirmation from my MA that the little green monster and his friends stowed away aboard the Caribbean Highway on Oct. 12 and should be hitting dry land (Charleston) on the 23rd. Then they hop a train for the VPC and should be there on the 24th.

Rybo, you need to tell that Clubman of yours that just because the boat was called the Caribbean Highway did not mean he was going to Jamaica!

 

FYI, Caribbean Highway's call sign is H9ZW. But it has not reported its location yet.

 

I do have a fondness for rum.

Perhaps my still virgin Mini Clubman will learn early the ways the Pina Colada.

Yes, but to get to me my MINI had to stowaway on the Turandot coming to the West Coast (dept 10/13 after 11 days at the dock, ouch). S/he's got a long voyage but is enjoying making laps on the ledo deck (in the fog no one sees the dark silver so s/he's safe to sneak out and take some laps). If found, s/he has my permission to order a round of drinks to ensure safe passage. Oh, for everyone but the cptn.

No barfing on the other cars though...not sure that learning on the open seas is the most advisable...(silent pause and thinks of 22nd birthday and all the rum and the popcorn bowl and the hangover...)

Congratulations to us all. No wonder our MINI's are sipping up pina coladas! Another big breakthrough in the ordering process. This is the home stretch!

Is anybody having any work done at the VDC? I'm getting my driving lamps put on there. I don't know how long to expect it to take though.

 

How do I tell if my options are dealer installed, or VDC installed?

 

OOOOhhhh, I wanted driving lamps! I will do it at a later time however. I did not know that options were installed at the VDC, thought the dealers did them all, but I didn't opt for any beyond the factory options.

 

Some options are VDC installed, some are factory installed and some are dealer installed. I'm not sure exactly who does what. I know driving lamps can be installed by the dealer or the VDC, but the VDC is cheaper. The bonnet stripes, for example, are factory installed, but the sport stripes are dealer installed. I think they may be categorized appropriately on the configurator though. For instance, I'm pretty sure that all the accessories on the last step of the configurator are dealer installed, but I wouldn't swear to it.

Speaking of which, where is this new factory aero kit? Anybody know? I want to see the difference between that and the JCW aero kit.

Finally after a long wait, my MINI has made it to the dealer this evening for this Friday Delivery...! Time to Burn some Rubber...! Can't wait to see her... :-)
