Sweet...I just took the aprilia up to caesar's head yesterday...with surprisingly little traffic. You may want to try that if you get up early tomorrow
Can't wait to pick up my MCS, I hope later this week! I am sooooooooo jealous right now!

Our week 33 Clubman is still on the Don Carlos - currently in the Bahamas on its way toward Galveston. It will apparently pass directly through the path of Hanna although I think it will have crossed and be into the Gulf ahead of Hanna reaching Florida. The ship is due in Galveston on Thursday the 4th; the same day that Hanna is expected to be over the Don Carlos' current position in the Bahamas.
Ugh. Updated Stormpulse map puts them too darned close. Argh.

Southern Highway track
This marinetraffic.com site seems to be pretty good but any idea why the Southern Highway would be anchored in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay? They obviously can't unload cargo from their current position. In any case, she is supposed to be due in Charleston on 9/4. I'm counting down the days!

Went for a little drive today, took Old hwy 25 thru Greenville watershed toward Hendersinville NC. then came back down Hwy176 thru Saluda to Tryon NC. If you know this area you know these are some twisty roads, and also in my backyard.
All I can say is this one impressive little car, it does everything well, sticks like glue and no matter which gear you are in it has enough power to pull off.
Keep in mind I'm still keeping under 4500 rpm, which sucks, but I'm going to do it. I've have almost 300 miles now, only 900 more to blast off.

Took delivery of my Week 33 LIB MCS today. It's been almost 3 months since I ordered and was one of the last off the line for '08. I was actually pretty lucky to get an '08 build slot over here. Anyway, it was well worth the wait. The dealer threw in a set of front floor mats and a bottle of champagne. Nice touch...
Today! We "git" our lil' guy today!
It's a cloudy day here in Chicagoland - remnants of hurricane Gustav. Sunnier day tomorrow, I'll put up pix asap.
We're paying cash, so my wife is freakin' a little. I'm letting her have the maiden voyage so hopefully a little bonding time will help sooth her apprehensions.

The Southern Highway is a few days late getting into Charleston. Now scheduled for 9/7. September is the worst month for me to get to Pittsburgh to pick it up. Well, just delays that first car payment a little longer!
Surprisingly, I'm willing to deal with the delay this time around. I'd rather my car be tucked away in the relative safety of the belly of a 600+ft ship rather than perhaps taking it's chances on the docks or outside the vdc when the hurricane/tropical storm moves through Charleston.

Got our chili red/black MC yesterday.
Unfortunately, we had got a flat tire on the way home from the dealer.
I posted our tail of woe in a new tread so I won't get into detail here.
Bottom line, we won't be driving our lil' guy until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Phreaking flat tire, wahzzup wit dat
Bummer about the flat. I know how deflated you must feel
I have a 1,000 mile ride home from "my dealer" since I ordered and will be taking delivery out of state. I hope to spend one day driving around town before I leave, because once I'm on the road, it's warranty work at my home town MINI dealer or nothing. No going back to the dealer.
