What up minination? I am new to NAM. But I come to you all for help.
I have an 04 mcs and I had a 17% alta sc pulley installed with a 539 napa belt. Now whenever I start the car cold it squeals for about 5 mins. s#@t drives me nuts even with a magnaflow. My mechanic replaced the idler pulley, no luck. then he replaced the belt tensioner and a new 539, no luck. Now he ordered a new 17% pulley from alta thinking the machining on the pulley was off , awaiting part. I know this thread has been done before, but I need some IDEAS. All ideas and solutions welcome. thanks

 

it is probably the belt.. Try a 060535 length belt and the squealling should stop ... The 539 belt is stock length and with the 17% pulley the tensioner cant get enough "grip" on the belt..

It could also be an alignment issue with the pulley. Check for rubber in the bottom of the engine bay, this is also a good sign of a misaligned sc pulley.
