Well i guess we're just waiting to have the VDC do their thing now! It will be interesting to see who gets the call first!

I'm heading to MoP Monday to sort out the pre-paperwork. Hopefully they'll have more info then.

 

uggggg this is pure toture, knowing its only a couple of hours away... so close yet so far....I wonder how long it takes at the VDC... I have a question, I went to the terminal site, and they said they did full service, damage repair <ypes> and de-waxing....why would you want to de-wax a car?

 

dpoole- they coat the car in this really thick wax called Cosmolene. Its there to protect the car from dings, salt air, small bumps, etc, etc. At the VDC they remove most of it. The rest will show up on a hot day as it warms up and comes off from the areas that are hard to clean. Lots of threads on how to clean cosmolene off.

I think that if you check out the sticky thread on "the port Hueneme tour" it explains what goes on at the vdc.

 

Those of us with Minis on the Western Highway are just leaving Baltimore, heading south through the Chesapeake Bay. Looks like you are all heading north to Baltimore.

Have your mini's stand on the port rail and wave to Bob!

 

Anyone get the call from their MA yet as to what their MINI status is? My boat docks in NY today and I'd sure like the rest of the MINI's out of the VDC and on the way to their owners so my MINI can take the express route through the VDC.

 

Nice color scheme and bonnet stripes Koko Pop. Mine looks the same (on the outside anyway).

 

I haven't gotten a word from my MA since the day I ordered it, the car is estimated to arrive at my dealer tomorrow

I called my dealer today, he looked at mine is still sitting at the VDC. I cleaned out my trade in last night, with high hopes it would be at my dealer today (NYC to Annapolis MD 4 hour trip) BUt it's still sitting there..ugh... I hope its here by Saturday...

 

On the way to Charleston, SC ! Should be there bright and early at VPC. Trying to think of names for my "tux" was thinking of "Humphrey" since Bogart made the white tux popular, or "Hugo"....congrats to those who babies have been unloaded so far!

My MA just called me, and my car has arrived at the dealership! That would be in Richmond, VA. It will be ready for pickup tomorrow. I can't wait!

 

Mine was to arrive at the dealer today, I called the MA, its still sitting in NJ awaiting a truck assignment. grrrr...it's starting to get frustrating... the first one I had was so screwed up with electrical problems, after almost 2 weeks in the shop the dealer took it back and gave me my truck back, so I ordered this one and now it sits there 4 hours away...almost to the point of tossing in the towel and keeping the truck. How do I find out if there has been damage to the car to see if that is what is holding it up being shipped 4 hours South.

I called Mini USA, they told me once it leaves the ship they have no other information, and to go through my MA, I called him and he does not know why its still there as well.

My Mini hit the VDC three days after yours (yesterday). I'm waiting for a reply from my MA about its status. Maybe the transport is waiting to fill up with Annapolis-bound Minis before it leaves the VDC. I'll let you know if I find anything out.

My MA doesn't know where my mini is either. I am headed down tomorrow to get some paperwork handled and maybe i can get some detail.

In all fairness to my MA he's understandably distracted on "baby watch". I am not too worried about it since i've been there, done that.

 

The OL finally says that its at the distribution center. Sheesh that took a while! Someone needs to re-write the webpage to have it keep up with us here on NAM!

My car got off the ship the 21st and got to the dealer on the 24th. I just picked it up today the 30th as it needed to have stripes applied and be prepped. Time to motor on!

 

Congratulations on that speedy delivery! I have not heard any official news yet, although the dealership in Buffalo thought they might see the car sometime late this week. We are running out of week quickly though...
