If the automated system is updated to say, "your vehicle is in transit" on Monday, then I think it's a safe bet that you are on the K-Line, and can call your MA just for an official confirmation.
Good advice. Thanks!

I think that they need to receive the car first and check it in before it shows up. I say that.... because if everyone recalls the first 2 cars I ordered ( and cancelled ) I have tracked. They were booked for the ship in JUNE, yet neither showed up until they were there at the port. I am still hoping mine makes it... but just because it is not yet listed, definitely doesn't mean it isn't going to be. I am glad I did get to track the other 2 cars.. helped to see how things fell into place!

Congrats DOC, you sould be on the same ship as me! I've been waiting at the port since the 4th. Looks like the next ship is the Maersk wind, leaving on the 13th. I wonder when we will show up on the ww tracking system?? If you see yours, post it!! I'll do the same.

You really have to know what port you are going to. Look on your order invoice and it should show. I know for sure I am going to Brunswick GA, and therefore - I am on the WW line since the Kline doesn't go there. That help!

Here is a break-down of the WW's ships heading to the east coast:

Two Ships going to NEW YORK Port

* INDEPENDENCE II
Leaves Southampton 8/8/08 - arrives in NY 8/18/08

*FIDELIO
Leaves Southampton 8/12/08 - arrives in NY 8/21/08

Then ONLY the Independence II is going on to Charleston, SC and that arrives 8/23/08

Then onto Brunswick, GA

Independence II arrives 8/25/08 ****
Fidelio arrives 8/26/08 *****

******* all of us traveling the WW's SHOULD make it onto one of these 2 ships! I think we'll have our babies by Sept 1st!

Western Highway is at the dock in Southampton. Independence II is near Zeeland approaching the North Sea bound for Southampton.

As excited as I was to make it onto the Independance II, it looks like I missed it. I am trying to track it on the WW website and nothing comes up when I enter my VIN. So I guess I will have to wait for the next ship if it is WW than it will only be one more day to wait so no big deal.

Maybe we'll be on the Western Highway, it's at port right now and will probably leave tomorrow!

Bemmeronduds, don't give up hope yet! I was looking at WW's website and tracking of several VIN #'s... some arrived at port days away from the time they were loaded, and some srrived and were loaded on the ship the same day it was leaving. So until tomorrow - we won't know if we missed it or not! However, even if we end up on the Fidelio, it's just 1 extra day!

Tracking those 2 other cars...
car#1 - BOOKED to sail on JUNE 3, 2008
ordered 7/18, went into production 7/19, completed 7/25, arrived at port 8/1, loaded 8/4 (took SIX days to leave Mini and get to the port)

car#2 BOOKED 7/22
ordered 7/19, went into production 7/21. completed 7/28, arrived at port 7/29, loaded 7/31 .. car #2, same dealer and quicker!

Good point tinker. Besides, there will be two ships leaving within 24 hours of each other.

Im still hopeing it will get onto the Independence II so I can get the car as soon as possible but not much else I can do. I emailed my MA and asked if he had any information regarding which ship I would be loaded on but no response yet since it was only about 5 minutes ago

Congrats!!

My port is the Georgia port. So even if I end up on the Fidelio there will only be a one day difference but I dont know the weekend schedules for these places so one day might turn out to be 3-4 depending on wether the VDC works on the weekends or not

IIRC the VDC only works M-F.

They tell me that there is nothing more they can tell me. It's at the port and it's up to my MA to tell me where it is. Still no word from him, as he said they won't know anything until it is actually loaded on the ship and heading this way. I'm amazed that they track so well up until you hit the port and then you're in limbo for however long it takes to get underway. Mine has now been at the port for 7 days (unless it is actually on a ship and no one I'm dealing with has a clue). So I'm trying to just think of something else....like...um...well, that's not working very well.

Well, guys, I was able to sell my car today (finally), so that I wouldn't have to trade it in and get completely HOSED by the dealership.

Unfortunately for me, someone is getting the best deal ever on a 2004 Mazda6. It's making me angry just thinking about it... But I just don't have the luxury of holding three cars for an extended amount of time. I wish I'd had more time to make a better deal.

I'm sad now.

Ahhh...don't be sad! I'm sure you made a much better deal than what a dealership would do. I would have done the same with my 2004 330xi but I decided that I'd let them hose me to avoid the hassle. If I'd have thought about it a little longer and realized just HOW LONG this wait is, I might have done what you did. Silly me.

I think most of us had to do something crazy with our previous car to get rid of it. I sold my baby for 4000 over what the dealer was giving me but it was a very special car. Plus i poured 35000 in extras into it. But I was just happy to get out of a bad deal with my previous car and move onto something new. You probablly wont even be thinking about it when you get your MINI. At first I felt terrible letting my car go for so cheap but as the days go on I forget about it more and more . Now I just anxiously wait for my new MINI and havent really thought about how cheap I sold my previous car for

Yeah, I feel the same way about my car. To top it off, the BMW dealer wanted my '97 Z3 as well as my 330xi but I just couldn't part with the Z3.
