New

Hi,

My name's James and am new to posting but have been on the forums for a while now. I don't yet have my Mini but after about a year and a half of wanting one, am getting near order time!

Thanks for the great info so far.

James

Very true...but I'm not sure how it will make waiting feel. In the end it's a good thing as you'll be able to keep up with the model year changes, rumors of changes, and the drama that inevitably goes on when these changes takes place. Welcome...and have fun!!!!

Welcome! Heh in my (current) experience NAM both helps and hurts with the waiting. I get to come check out what's going on with everyone and their MINIs and the folks who are waiting, but at the same time it means I'm not getting distracted away from the fact that I should have mine any time now.

Have fun & enjoy!

Heronsilver, did your MA call about it being delivered yet? I've been following your impatience for a little while hahah.

Astro Black
Premium Package
Chrome lined dials

I'm going to order either tonight or tomorrow and am still not certain, for some reason I started having some doubts about color again last night into today, so who know:P

As for chrome dials, thats up in the air too. I need to see it in person. Thats pretty much it, very basic. I like the AB as is, but when I was considering Red(which I guess I still am but not as much) I was planning on getting the JCW aero kit at some point after purchase. If blue, same as red but w/ the black carbon fiber bonnet scoop. I also might consider getting AB w/ crome bonnet scoop, but have not taken the time yet to add that to a build to see what it looks like.

I think the Astro Black looks really sharp. I do tend to like black cars in general though (including my current car). Only downside is that they're a pain to keep clean

I test drove an Astro Black with Piano Black interior, Anthracite Headliner, Chrome trim and Black Lounge Leather seats, looked really slick.

What roof/mirror cap colors were you thinking? Black looked great but white (or checker) would look good too for some more "stand out" contrast.

PSUinDC I guess my anticipation is getting the better of me, lol. Sounds like a pickup on Monday. I'm supposed to call the dealer's business manager tomorrow to make sure everything is set and to set up a time. Can't wait!

If I go AB it would have black top w/ chrome mirror caps.

at $159, I might just get the chrome bonnet scoop as an extra extra. As in go w/ the stock black but have the chrome to switch out when I feel like I want a bit more chrome. sounds like they are easy to swap out if I read correctly.

I was reading somewhere (one of the vendor sites I think) that the JCW grille and grille surround were an easy replacement and are black, so you can de-chrome the front grille surround easily if you want to back things out a bit more.

One other thing I might consider if I'd gone with black is the white turn signal markers. Looks like those are easy enough to replace on your own though too if you decide to do it in the future.

The JCW carbon fiber hood scoop could look really sweet on AB as well I bet, though be a bit more subtle. I have a hard time with how expensive carbon fiber ends up being if it's just for looks, compared to say chrome or some other finish/material.

Just curious, if you get AB, do you get to choose between the body color roof or black roof? I'm thinking they must be slightly different.

For AB you cant have a black top. Only body color or white.

what does the normal turning signal s look like? red? I just tried my build w/ the white and they do make them look cool.

Am I right on the scoop? Is it easy to put out and replace?

On the Scoop it looks like it should be pretty simple, but I have no experience with it and haven't done any research there (I'm getting a JustACooper).

The normal turn signals (the ones on the scuttles) are yellow. I think there is an option for rear turn signals to be white as well. I don't know about the latter, but the former looked super easy to change out if you wanted to save a few $ in labor and install them yourself post-delivery.

Well, I ordered my MCS today:D

I'm obviously very very excited. My MA said I'm week 29 but I think she might of meant that that's when it is to be ordered.

My MCS:

Astro Black
Chrome mirror Caps
White Turn Signals
Premium Package

Might add the following:
Nav Unit
Interior Surface Piano Black
Leather Steering Wheel w/ Multifunction(though I don't want but have to have if I get a Nav Unit)
Bluetooth w/ ipod/usb connection(supposedly this works great w/ the nav unit)
