Congrats on Stella. She looks beautiful!

I joined the River City Mini's, (but like I said, I don't quite have the MINI yet). Is anybody else part of the River City Mini's?

I am - or rather, I try to be - part of the Richmond Club. They don't have as many meetings/gatherings as the other clubs, and most of the membership are or have been involved in gear-head / modding and racing. They're a very knowledgable crew, but unfortunately a bunch of professionals who can't always get schedules synched. They try to meet at an ice cream place the first Monday of every month, but...As long as I get a heads' up on meeting times/places, I've been willing to do the 30+ minute drive.

So, I thought I'd mix it up by joining one or more other clubs - so I can get the FULL effect. Or, as my husband puts it, more VENT options for my MINI-mania.

Sounds like multiple clubs might be the way to go. I bet the folks west of here around Roanoke do some great scenic drives. I'm looking forward to taking mine up on the parkway.

Absolutely - there was one "meeting" (technically it was me and one other MINI from the Richmond club) where we went on a really long twisty drive, partly through the Blue Ridge. It was awesome! I only got a paper copy of the drive, but I"ll be sure to send it once I find it and transfer to digits. The whole thing was about 250 miles, but we went MOST of that route and it took us about 5 hours.

Aw, that sounds like heaven! I've been trying out new roads that I want to take my MINI down when I get it, but it's just not the same in a Chevy Blazer.

Oh - make sure you're not going to knock yourself off the mountain range with the blazer!!! I"ll send you a PM when I get it on digits. At least you can do a recon in the Blazer...just at much slower speeds.

What region does the Tar Heels Mini's cover? Anybody around Lynchburg or Charlottesville involved?

One of the THMMC people I met this weekend just sent me the video link to their last Blue Ridge Mountain run -- this is really great! It really gives you a sense of being there on a "real" run!

I am a new member and may be doing this wrong, but wanted to get involved in the NAM. Sorry if I started a new post.

Have a 2006 Mini Cooper that my wife bought recently with 35,00 miles. She loves the car however we do have a very small, at times , coolant leak. Just a drop or two overnight and not always. Not coming from the Overflow tank as was discussed in some emails. I found out about NAM by looking for information on the coolant leak. Have to add coolant after a longer trip of 500 miles or so. Any information would be appreciated on this problem.

Thanks
McAda

Welcome to NAM, McAda - you didn't start a new thread, you revived an old one. Are you in VA? Here are some terms and info you might not know about your car (makes it hard to search the threads, i know!) You have a 1st Generation MINI (2002 - 2006). You didn't say whether or not it was a Cooper or a Cooper S, but the first is called MC (abbreviations) and the latter is MCS.

I'm not a gearhead, but if I were you, I'd search in some of the 1st Generation mechanical threads - try these links:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ng-a-leak.html

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...lant-leak.html

Once you get the hang of NAM, you can search for more specific problems - and get more specific answers!! Good luck!

Welcome to the NAMily McAda! Hope you and your wife are enjoying your new toy (aside from the leak of course).

Feel free to ask anybody anything here. If we don't know the answer, we'll point you in the right direction.

Where abouts in VA to hail from?

Thanks for the welcome. The treads have given me some good insight for reason of the coolant leak.
