First of all, thanks to all of you who take the time to post and educate those of us looking to join the Mini Owner ranks. Like many of you, I spec'd out what I wanted and went into a dealer ready to order, but they had a model pretty close to mine so I dealt and bought. Here is what I drove off with:

'08 MCS BRG/BRG Prem./Conv./Cold Weather, Tuscan Beige, Piano Black, Cream Line, Anthracite, Xenon, Rear Fogs, White Turn Signals, 17" Rims, DSC

I didn't have the Cold Weather Pkg. in my spec, but not sorry I got it. Dealer took off $500, threw in stripes and mats. All together a pleasant experience. Haven't seen many posts of those buying off the lot. Any similar experiences?

First off, Congrats on the new Car. Your going to love it. I've only had mine for a week, i dont think ill ever get tired of driving this car.

As for your story, pretty much what happened to me last week. Went in with a build in mind, they had a Astro black MCS with matching roof, 6 speed, lsd, sport package on the lot with Nav. Took it home the next day. Only thing not in my original plan was getting nav, but i am happy i got it now, because i would've missed it.

BTW where in MD are you? I have family in the Emmitsburg area.

I bought mine off the floor, the dealer threw in the checkerboard graphics on the sunroof and mirrors. Had the premium and cold weather package, rear spoiler and white bonnet stripes. Tis auto tranny so I have fun playing with the paddles to downshift when doing curves, turns and stops.

Welcome! I'm a fellow MD MINI owner. It sounds like you bought a great MINI. Did you buy through MINI of Towson?

 

Congratulations on finding the model you wanted on the lot. My Clubman is on the boat in the middle of the Atlantic right now and the wait is killing me!!

I'm also in the "land of pleasant living". Bought mine at MINI of Annapolis. I like the looks of yours. I opted for the piano black/cream line with the prem and conv pkgs. Pepper white ext, though.

 

Thanks for all the "props" and warm welcomes. I am in Montgomery County, MD so I bought my Mini at Mini of Sterling (which is the closest dealer to me). I am going back Wednesday for the Stripes, so I'll be posting photos later in the week. BTW, Pepper White was my second choice. It looks great, as do most of the Mini colors.

I'll be checking out threads dealing with the break in period, as well as deciding if I want to go back for Lojack. Have it on other cars, so not sure if I'll miss it.
