How was dealing with Penfed? Afton my MA was trying to get me to use them for financing and I told her that I was quoted 4.87 through Bank of America "which Prestige uses" and 4.25 from Penfed.
She told me that she would see if they could come close to that. Still waiting to hear from her, But just wanted to know how Penfed was. I am leary of doing anything on the internet. how much more was Penfed if you did not use the online form.
Thanks

Penfed was easy...I actually called to get preapproved since I dont have a final exact value of what the car is going to cost...so I had a manager sign off for the 4.25%...I have a blank check sitting here that I can fill out depending on what the car ends up costing....

the finance charge does not start until the check is cashed by the car company.....

the only drawback to that would be if the rates in July did not stay the same and they didn't get the check back until then.....but the FED isn't going to raise rates right now during an election year.

IMO Penfed is certainaly worth it....gonna save me at least $26 a month

Think they'll have the car prepped so early?

Thanks
I also used PenFed. Joining was a breeze with a one-time $20.00 internet contribution. They opened a savings share account with $5.00 (Both by Credit Card).

Applied for my loan Sunday before last over the internet. Very easy application process. Approval was instantaneous. Loan Check and documents arrived by regular mail on Friday (5 days later). Check is payable to me and the dealer.

I was also reluctant to take a loan over the internet, but it was a very easy process and at a great rate! Plus they are very nice people to talk to over the phone which is way more than I can say about my regular bank. Wish I could deal with them as my everyday bankers.

Finally, if you do chose to deal directly with them, it costs one-half percent more than the online rates.

+1 PenFed

I signed up this afternoon with PenFed via phone even though I would have preferred to do so via the Internet. For some reason it would not accept my application online...go figure. Great process, very easy, and very helpful folks on the phone. It is a better rate than I got approved for from my employer even with employee perks (they've already been mentioned in this thread).

I don't know, I didn't hear back from my MA yet. The only work I am having done is the addition of sport stripes, I'm not too sure what else is going to take any significant amount of time to prep. I figured by calling early and requesting, I might come out ahead.

Thanks everyone I'll give Penfed a call tomorrow. With the way that the ship is moving at and I think a very fast pace. I think we'll get our poopers by next Saturday. How I've come up with this is Fidelio is supposed to be here by the 14th. With calm seas I think it'll be here on the 13th which is Friday. That leaves a week for the poops to go through vdc and be delivered. Which like you said Prestige is only about 40 miles away. I definately thinks it's a possibility and if anyone needs lottery numbers let me know :-)

I don't know if your right, but I like what your saying!

I'm in MD and when I ordered, the dealer told me to expect it the second week of July. If the boat gets into NY this Saturday, I can't imagine it taking that long to get to the dealer. And yes, my OCD has been positively confirmed by this purchase process!

....Poopers! He said Poopers! I like that!
"Honey, I'm taking the Pooper out for a spin."
"Honey, I gotta go wash my Pooper."

Unfortunately I doubt this. You have to remember it is going to spend some downtime in Halifax, NS before to offload Bandit's MINI and other vehicles. The crew of the FIDELIO make this voyage back and forth every three weeks it looks like, I'd bet they have it down to a science at this point :( Also it will take at least 2 days to clear the VDC so we're pretty out of luck for Saturday the 14th at the NYC VDC.

Ya know, this cruise is like all the rest I've been on. Half-way through, I'm bored stiff.

Anyone know the "drink of the day" tomorrow?
How big is the Bingo pot?

I concur. The on-board activities are pretty boring compared to the pre-boarding process.

Drink of the day, shmrink of the day; my MINI is doing shots of the stuff that has the highest "octane" rating.

What is the drinking age at sea?
and isn't he a little young for the Everclear?

Ok, so MINIPOOPER arrives in NY VDC on this Saturday, the 14th. I wonder how long it will take from there to my dealer in Annapolis? Any ideas?

no clue.... are you getting anything done to the car at the dealership?
If so, that might delay pick up. I'd say you'll have your car, most definitely, by the end of the month. (maybe next weekend???)

Well, I'm glad to hear that.

I don't know why it had to stop there first anyway.
Why couldn't they go to NY first and then back to Nova Scotia.
Huh?
Why?

I want my MINIPOOPER!

This is not funny anymore.

.........I think I need to check my medication.

Oh boy, it looks like we got the heck out of Merry Olde England just in time. There is a thread where the Reps at the AskMINI line were joking that there was a strike at the Oxford plant. It was a joke:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=143671

But farther on in the thread there is a link to a BBC article on the possibility that MINI may have to shut down the Oxford factory since they can't get parts due to the Spanish Petrol Protests.

In retrospect, I am absolutely comfortable with my MINIPOOPER spending the today in Nova Scotia. I hope he was able to go on a nice shore excursion while they were in port.
