Sea turtles, mate.

Maybe it's too close to land to track...?

Alright! Finally some "milestones" today! We get to see another port turn to red on the WW site; and we get thru the Panama Canal.

traveling at 5 knots right now makes me :impatient:
No, no...the wind was at 5 knots. The ship was traveling at 19 knots.

On to the Pacific!!!

How exciting! One down and ONE to go! When do you think they will leave port today? The sooner the better!

I wonder why they haven't reported a new position yet... They should be well enough away from land by now... Well only one more week at sea!!! Hopefully the VDC is ready for us and are going to push our MINI's through in record timing!

Does anyone have an active AISFREE account? I'm still waiting on mine. Maybe they have updated info.

I was reading the new and improved "How to track..." and the SAILWX site we were watching doesn't work after the Panama Canal (or after the ship leaves the Atlantic...) Not sure if anyone else knew this, but I guess I was unaware of it.

SPF ZERO what is the link for the AISFree account? I don't have one yet but would like to register...

Thanks!

Is this it? Or does anyone know quite how to read/use this site? The Rigoletto hasn't shown up on the list yet... I don't know -- this is confusing

i found that link.

In the drop down, it has a select few ports. Baltimore, New york and others..

Find all the ones that start with US -

then if there are any ships in that area, they will populate on the left side white box.

no problem.. just FYI, we only caught our ship, the PATRIOT, for a few minutes the night before it was supposed to land. Then all the next day it didnt show up. I guess they turned off the transmitter once it was at the dock. So all day a couple of us were like "it sank"

then the WW site showed our cars were offloaded. So dont assume its not there like we did if it isnt showing up in the list..

oh and AIS is only good for about 50 miles off shore.

Oh ok, good to know!! So we sit in the dark until it get's closer to shore basically...

What's the status with your MINI?

yeah, pretty much. If your boat isnt posting on the sailwx (weather site), that usually means they are close enough to shore. However you have to keep eyeballing the AIS site to catch the boat. For a couple days i kept refreshing the sailwx, AIS, NY port schedule, and the WW cargo site every 10 minutes waiting to see a change.

My MINI got offloaded at 8am yesterday at the NY VDC. Based on it being there a week, i am guessing a week from this Thursday for dealer pickup. Hopefully sooner though.

Actually, it looks like the site does have some info on ships in the Pacific. This is the current screenshot, and it still shows us approaching Panama.

I think it depends on whether or not the ship transmits data. Lets cross our fingers that the Rigoletto gets back to transmitting!!

Isn't that funny -- Didn't my MINI get finished and shipped before yours? I can't remember... At any rate I still don't think it's fair that the East coast get's their cars SO much faster!! I still have one week to Port, 1 week at the VDC (hopefully) and then about 1 week to my dealer... And we were both week 23'ers... I'm glad though that you get to pick up soon -- that is beyond exciting! Can't wait to see your pics!! Thanks for the help and the info!
