Hello...
I'm on the prowl for a MCS, somehow I like the supercharged more than the turbo so far (I may be wrong). I'm pretty well versed at euro cars as I've had Audi's (TT and A6), Mercedes, FIAT and so on. What are the points to look at when getting a preowned -used- MCS? I'm still undecided for a new from the dealer or a 2005/6 MCS. Opinions.....please?

What's the motor life expectancy, hoping that it has been sort of well taken care of? What about other items like suspension life? I've read that the front control arm bushings let go after 30K~50Kmiles.
I'm not that much a comfort creature as I don't give for navigation or such, but some performance is what I'm looking for. MC are fairly inexpensive compared to the MCS, now a dumb question (putting flame suit on) how far can a MC motor/tranny be pushed towards a MCS? is it worth it? Again, I'm a newbie on MC.... I'll keep lurking in the forum archives.....
Thanks for you comments,

Rafa

Get a 2004 or newer. There were issues with the 02's and 03's, like cracking windshields, for instance.
Better yet, get the 2005, because MINI put slightly different gearing in the 6-speed manual, resulting in slightly better acceleration.

Congratulations! I so jealous that you were able to find your car on the lot!
The wait for an ordered one is killing me. Welcome to MINItopia!
wohoo..

Welcome to MINItopia! Thanks Rich, yes, the car was the only SS on the lot with what I wanted. I don't need navigation and such so there it was. The only thing I'm installing this week (maybe) is the alarm.
