New here and Getting Ready for a Clubman

New member here. Just started to do extensive research on a new Mini Clubman S. Just a few questions that I couldn't find answers for:

1.) I'm in Massachusetts and was curious if there were any members who purchased from the Peabody or Comm Ave Mini locations and their experiences.

2.) What is the wait time on ordering a new Clubman?

3.) Any options that you didn't end up liking?

My specs (or so I hope..):
Mini Clubman S (Hot Chocolate)
Hot Chocolate Leather Interior
Silver Rear Trim
Chrome Line Exterior and Mirror Caps
Body Color Roof
Premiusm/Convenience/Sport/Cold Weather Packages
Computer Nav. System
Bunch of other Accessory options..

Might have more luck in the regional or Clubman forums with your specific questions.

Wait time is totally dependent on dealer allocation. Some dealers in the northwest are quoting a 5 month wait from what I've read. Others get 'em in 6 weeks.

Good luck!! Once you get your Clubbie, make sure you post pictures!

Hi there,
We got our Clubman S from Herb Chambers Mini, the one on Comm ave, and were pretty satisfied with how we were treated by our MA. We haven't had to go to service yet, so I can't comment on that. People seem to rave about the folks up in Peabody but we opted to stay closer to home.

We had a pretty quick turnaround of 6 weeks, ordered on 2/23, built on 3/9 and delivered on 4/2 but this varies and they'll be able to tell you right away what kind of wait you're in for.

Option wise, we have some overlap.. Premium, Convenience and Cold Weather and we're happy with those. The only option that I'm disappointed with is the armrest. There's just too much compromise and I'm not sure how I could be happier with it.
Its not really high or forward enough for me to rest my arm... but if it were higher, it would be in the way when shifting.
There isn't a lot of storage inside, but if it were wider, then you might have trouble reaching the seat tilt or seatbelt buckle.
I pretty much just use it to store my mp3 player out of sight and it does that well!

Alas, I didn't figure this stuff out until I'd lived with it for a bit. If you know someone with an aftermarket armrest, you might find that to be a better match for you.

Mass Clubman

Hi Lewis-

I live on the North Shore. I checked out Peabody MINI for a Clubman S but their wait was too long (they quoted me an early August delivery in mid-March!). It seemed like a good dealership and I will likely use it for service. I also tried to get attention from Herb Chambers in Boston without much luck. I would email very specific questions (like what Production Week they were currently booking) and received nothing but form letters back from them. I still get email asking me to contact them if I am still interested or to advise if I bought elsewhere. When I try to do the considerate thing and respond, the link doesnt work.

So those are the two local dealers. I then tried Inskip in Rhode Island and that was a winner. I placed my order on April 1 and took delivery on May 8. the facility is spotless-only a year old-and has received top marks for service. I was very pleased with the entire experience. Even the wait and tracking the car through the production schedule and then across the Atlantic was fun.

Inskip was had a much lower dealer prep fee and was willing to talk about freebies and the like. They even sent one of their employess to the Registry in North Attleboro to secure tags.

I pretty much loaded up on options. It seemed like there wasone or two things in each of the Packages that I really liked. While ordering this things separately was an option, it seemed to make more financial sense to buy the packages. I have no regrets.

Good luck!
