Delivery in the Rain :(

I'm taking delivery tomorrow, but it's supposed to rain. I really wanted to see my MINI sparkling in the sun. Now I'm going to get the floormats all wet and everything

Any similar experiences?

They'll probably have it in the showroom for you. Just wipe your feet on their carpet before you get in.

Then again... it was about 6:30 when I got there to pick Lewis up and he was just sitting outside. Apparently he got bumped outside because I had to push back my delivery date a couple days.

Almost had the same thing happen to me yesterday. It snowed all day until 3ish and luckily by the time I picked up my Mini @ 6pm the roads weren't too wet. Hopefully you'll have a similar experience!

Picked up a new Z3 at the factory in Spartanburg, South Carolina, it started to rain just as I pulled out of the showroom and rained all the way home. By the time I got home to Ohio my beautiful new yellow car looked gray!

We had snow in Arizona when mine was ready so I waited a few days until the weather was good and the MA was available. They were really understanding of the situation. Just didn't want to take a chance with freezing weather.
Guess you could pretend you are in the UK as it rains so much there. So many of their photos show their cars are wet a great deal of the time.

Hey don't worry -- I picked my Cricket up on a rainy day but just considered it her 'baptism' on the freeway going home. Got her home in the garage and wiped her down and really got to know all her curves. It'll be okay -- don't wait for a sunny day - go get her!!

Well aren't we use to Ohio being that way though?
At least your MINI is like portable sunshine (yellow)

Well, did it rain for your delivery? Either way, how did it go?
Congrats on finally getting your new baby!

No rain, just overcast...but it was sitting outside with a nice layer of pollen, without my silver stripes, and lot of fuzzies all over the inside. Oh yeah, and none of my promised floormats.

So, he threw the floormats in and they owe me silver stripes, which were apparently on backorder, and no one told my MA.

Anyway, depsite the fact that they obviously didn't detail it, or really give a rat's *** about my delivery as far as I'm concerned, it was a blast to drive home and I'll just clean it up myself. I'll get pics up as soon as I do.

Oh yeah, and I had to pull over on the way home because the hood was flopping around. Someone didn't shut it all the way.

Post a New Thread on the POOR Service this Dealership has given you. The NAM Community is better served by those who relay their experiences and taking Delivery is getting alot more attention since our MINIs are getting to be so popular!!

You're better off with them having not detailed it, believe me!

What a bummer. The "delivery experience" is one of the best parts about buying a new car. Shame on any dealer that does not do it up right for any customer that's parting with their hard earned cash for something they hold near and dear to their hearts. End of rant.

Sorry to hear that.... sounds kind of familiar. My Lewis was clean, but had the wrong wheels and no floormats. But! Parts is closed and no one is here to change the contract (wrong term), so either leave the car with us or take it like it is and come back some other time for service. What follow is a long story of abysmal service, but Lewis is finally right and I won't be back there.
