Now Motoring!

Hi guys and gals! My wife and I just bought an 05 R53 in purple haze with black roof. We bought it from friends of ours who have owned the car since new. It will be my wife's daily driver and see occasional road trip and autocross duty. I bought a Mustang GT in 05, and the Cooper S was my second choice at the time. Actually, the reason our friends bought this car was from my raving about how much fun the Coop was on the test drive. Now, we have my first and second choice sports cars, and I'm pretty darned excited about it.
I'm going to be asking lots of questions about maintenance, mods, and stuff because I do all but the most in-depth repairs myself. Right now, I have to go teach my wife how to drive her new car since she's never driven a stick before. It should be exciting!

Motor On!
Dave

Hey Grats on the new Mini. I predict you taking over the mini or trading in the Mustang for a second one in less then 3 months

Good luck with it and post some pictures when you can.

Thanks Jeff! Well, the boot camp went well and she was driving uncomfortably in light traffic before the end of the day. A couple more runs around town and she'll be flying solo. After driving it, ahem, with spirit, it's a dam fun car, but I made the right choice for my daily driver. The Mini out handles the Mustang, hands down, but I'm a pretty big guy, and the Stang fits me a little better. The Mustang has a brutal-fast torque response, while the Cooper accelerates into the stratosphere like an electric motor. The Mustang drifts beautifully with the back end hung out and the tires spinning, and the Mini corners like it's velcroed down. The greatest part is I get to have both!!!
