Finally, I got a MINI!

Hi Club Members.

First, I'd like to say that I have been lurking on this forum for two years: reading threads on R53 and R56 stock problems, and getting a feel for what it is like to have an English made automobile. Being a university student who works full time, I couldn't go for anything brand new. Besides, I do not like the new body style. That left me wondering about an R53, and much to my surprise I now own a 2002 Cooper S Red/White with sport package, sun roof, and driving lights. Yet, with all the rigmarole surrounding the pwr steering fan, I went ahead and bought and installed the updated part today. Anyways, I am very happy to have this car (yet I really want to install an iPod integration system but I have a stock radio) and will be here for many years to come. Thanks for all the information you guys have provided for he last two years as I lurked about. C-ya!!

Congrats on a great looking R53 and appears to be in fantastic shape! The driving lights are a nice touch too. And classic colour choice... of course I'm partial to CR/W.

Only two weeks with my MINI and I've replaced the fan, shift know, pedal pads, installed Ian's Auto-Up option & new spark plugs, fixed a leaky valve cover, and got some all weather floor mats. I have to stop, so now is the time.

Great looking car! I purchased my '04 MCS used (best bang for the buck!) kind of as a college graduation present to myself.

Out of curiosity, exactly what was updated on the p/s fan? I thought the only thing the fans needed was a fan guard installed (available from the aftermarket)...
