Roymo, for me it's worse knowing exactly where it is all the time! It makes me stress out even more about how slow it's moving and what could happen to it on the ocean! I'd rather just be put into a coma or just distract myself during this whole process.

It's a lot harder waiting than I thought, especially since I first test drove February 2nd, and had to wait until my mom's car sold in order to be able to order my mini. With the economy the way it is, no one wanted to buy a Nissan Pathfinder getting 18mgs and using premium gasoline! *go figure*

Oh well, I'm kind of distracting myself by buying things for the mini on ebay etc.

Carmen's due up next in the Miraflores locks. If you're online, now's the moment to check the webcam
http://webcams.pancanal.com/common/p...iraflores.html

I'll try to post screenshots later for those who miss it.

In case anyone's curious, the Carmen should be coming through the Miraflores locks anytime now. I see her on the aislive site as being in the area, which you can actually watch live here: http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

Welcome to the Pacific Ocean, little MINIs!

Well the Carmen and all our MINIs are sailing the pacific ocean right now! They crossed through the Panama canal sometime 5:00/6:00pm Pacific Time. Congrats to everyone! We're a little closer to getting our motorin' on.

So....

we're on the pacific right now headed up the coast, but I hate how I can't track it right now. Ugh.

The WW site still says its ETA is 4/28 in Oxnard, so I'll hope for that! And from then, it should be a short time until we all get our MINIs!

Well now the Carmen isn't showing up on the WW site at all. When I try to look at her schedule to see if she's in port today it can't even find the ship at all! Has this happened to anyone? It says there is no such ship with that name.....

No issues for me. I'm doing an auto cargo lookup by VIN (I've entered it so many times since the 8th that I've got it memorized!) and get the voyage details from there.

My MCS isn't showing as discharged yet, so the Carmen is probably off-loading as we type.

I can find it by doing a VIN in the auto cargo, just not by her schedule. I know that The Carmen was a day late going through the Panama Canal, so I was wondering if indeed it was still scheduled to port today...or if it would be delayed a day. I know, I'm crazy, but we're getting so close to delivery day!!!

Voyage details show the Carmen has left Port Hueneme, so they're no doubt sitting on the dock right now.

Good to know. My MA says still probably a few weeks before it gets to Seattle...

I'm getting awfully tired of driving my dad's grocery getter.

wooo! I'm so excited! Thanks for the details!

update: Just checked the WW site by putting in my VIn and it doesn't show that it's off the ship or anything yet. Is anyone's MINI that was on the carmen showing up as released or any other status on the WW site?

Okay, just checking! Getting a little anxious right now since Port Hueneme is only like 2.5 hours away from where I live. I just want to go jump in my MINI and steal it!

Anyone find out any info on their MINIs that were on the Carmen? WW site still isn't showing any vehicles offloaded or checked in or anything, but it is showing that it left port on monday....

I hope it didn't leave with all our MINIs!!

Oh that's good to hear! I just checked the WW site again it and finally showed up that my MINI had been discharged from the boat as of last monday.
DISCHARGED PORT HUENEME, CA 28/04/2008 18:00
LOADED ON VESSEL SOUTHAMPTON 08/04/2008 13:44
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 08/04/2008 07:46
BOOKED SOUTHAMPTON 07/04/2008 10:35

Now hopefully I don't have to wait a long time at the VDC. Pocket, do you know if yours is going to have a lot done to it at the VDC?

I don't know exactly what is is installed at the VDC and what is installed at the factory. I didn't add too many options. Hopefully it's getting ready to be loaded on the truck.

Yeah I'm not sure what all is installed or prepped at the VDC either. I don't think I ordered a lot of special options or anything. Mine is kind of your plain-old run of the mill kinda MINI I think. The only thing I can think of is the bonnet stripes maybe? But I have a feeling those are already on it.

Let's cross our fingers they're both getting ready to be loaded on the truck(s)!

We just got "THE CALL" from our MA letting us know our car's almost here and when it will be ready. Since you're in Seattle too, I'd guess yours is likely on the same truck as ours? You'll be motoring SOON!

Lucky...

I don't get to pick up mine until probably NEXT weekend now. (ugh).

Come'on now, what do they expect a 23 y/o to do without her MINI cooper??

It would seem plausible enough that both our Minis are on that truck. Unfortunately, communication is not one of my MAs core competencies. I've initiated every communication thus far. I don't expect he'll call until after the car arrives despite my request to know as early as possible so I can make schedule arrangements.

On the other hand, maybe today is his day off.

I'm anxious to know...

Our experience last time was that we didn't get a call with a ready date until it was coming off the truck at the dealership. We're adding driving lamps, the iPod adapter, paint protection, boot stripes, and the portable NAV mount, all of which has to be done after it arrives at the dealer, but they're pretty speedy. You may all still find you're motoring before us!
In the meantime, you can enjoy the video of MINIs at the VDC on the Owners Lounge site, pick out a playlist of inspiring songs for your drive home from the dealer, shop for car care supplies, and plan out the curviest backroad route for your drive home!

PocketRkt.... we just couldn't resist a short trip to Fife today ... heard our MINI was unloaded early this morning. We saw an MCS Dark Silver, black roof/mirrors, web spokes, black racing stripes. Could it be???
Got spy shots... wanna see?

YES PLEASE! How cool is that?!?

I called to confirm earlier and it is definitely there. I'm certain you saw my Mini!

I'm officially scheduled to pick it up Tuesday afternoon.

I'm excited!
