Week 15 Support Group
I'm starting to get pretty anxious myself. Would be great if I could take delivery this weekend...
And big congrats to BPulley
I was a week 14 build and have not received my car yet..but I'm on the west coast...
Blackjack just got off the Integrity Sunday and is on his way to the VDC....this I know. I get an email (first one mind you) from my MA this morning.
"Hi, hope you are having a great day. Your MINI has finished production and it is on a boat in transit to charleston. It is scheduled to arrive in charleston , SC on the 15th and I would assume it will be here to pick up by the 18th-20th. I will keep you posted once it arrives so we can arrange to pick-up. Thanks again. R****y"
I freaked
a little and emailed him back saying their must be a huge mix up because (all tracking info shows it got to Charleston, SC on Sunday 05/04)
He writes back: "I am glad to see you are excited about recieving your MINI. It is scheduled to arrive at the VPC sometime later today, It will have the sport stripes applied while there. BMW / MINI is giving me a ship to dealer date of 5/11 which usually means it will be here by the 12th or 13th giving the 11th is on a Sunday and they do not ship on sundays. Also once it arrives I will need a day or so for Pre-delivery Inspection , and the mud flaps install. I was not aware of you tracking it so closely.
I was just allowing an extra day or two incase of complications. Thanks again, and I will let you know when I know more."
So hopefully next Wednesday will be the day!
If so it will be exactly 6 weeks since order was placed.

Just got an email from my MA as well reporting that my MINI is at the VPC with an estimated ship date of Friday.
I'm in Cincinnati, so I'd imagine I'm probably looking at taking delivery sometime in the middle of next week (thinking 3 days or so on a truck and a couple at the dealer for clear bra and mud flap installs, etc.).
I'm at least 425 miles each way from Spartansburg, but I'd gladly go pick it up from there as well (maybe hit Deal's Gap on the way home
. Might be bad for break in though
).
Oh well, at least I've got next week off work.

MA emailed me yesterday that my MINI was on a truck at the VDC waiting for the rest of the cars to be loaded onto the trailer and would most likely hit the road some time today.
Oh and the OL just updated to "At VDC" this morning. Edit: just noticed that the OL is also showing an estimated Delivery Date of 5/10/08

Pics Pics!
Congrats Vivienne ! Definitely need pics.
I swung by the dealer this evening and my new MCS was unloaded Saturday but I won't get to take it home until Wednesday afternoon.
I did snap some pics though. Looks a little goofy as the shipping spacers are still installed but here it is:

Won't be long now...

.I'm going nuts with anticipation, so close yet still so far away. I had good drives in my R53 and an '08 MCS Manual today though, so that helps
.
I am new to the group- found you as I was anxiously waiting for my clubman s to show up. It started production 4/12 so I think I am a week 15! Left england on 4/24, landed in NJ last weekend but no sign of it in many days. Has anyone seen a dark silver clubman trying to find his way from NJ to Virginia?
Very nice MINIs Cutters68 and Vivienne
I finally got to pick mine up tonight at 7:45 PM. The wait was definitely worth it.
They wound up drilling the front bumper for the license plate even though I had asked for them not to on a few different occasions (had my no holes license plate bracket in hand when I went to pick up), but a new front bumper has been ordered and will be installed and clear bra'd once it comes in and gets painted. Hopefully it matches up well.
No new exterior pics as it was getting pretty dark and rainy by the time I had my hands on it, but man, it looks pretty darn nice all stock, IMO. Has me reconsidering my plan to give it the blackout treatment and getting silver wheels instead of graphite...

I'm not sure if Number 4 is week 15 or week 16 (so I'm posting in both threads). He was in production on the 6th or April, and completed on the 14th, we only ordered on the 4th, so I was pleasantly surprised by how fast that went.
But then he just missed getting on the Isolde, so sat around at Southampton for a very frustrating 2 weeks waiting for the Turandot. So if he is week 15, we may be the last still waiting. The latest update is he got to MINI of Mountain View on Saturday. The holiday is delaying the preparation even further though, so we may not get him until tomorrow.

Well, I've had mine for a couple weeks now and it's a ton of fun. I finally got some pictures I figured I'd share, and also some of my thoughts so far.
The mileage is awesome. I'm getting about 35 mpg overall on this tank, which is mostly highway miles. My previous average over a couple tanks was 31 mpg combined, which included more city driving.
People's perception is entirely positive, really. I have a lot of friends who own domestic trucks, and they still thought it was a great little car.
The odometer must be busted, though. It says I've already gone over 1300 miles....
