Anticipation...

Greetings from a MINI newbie,

After lurking awhile, here goes:

Today my status changed from "on order" to "scheduled for production", so now I get to a new level of drooling with anticipation. Ordered March 8, due date on dealer contract is April 30. Maybe if I hold my breath it will come early. That works, right?

Very happy to be joining the fellowship of the MINI. I look forward to great fuel economy, and a seriously fun driving experience.

Welcome to the NAMily.

The wait is so worth it.

Congrats on the Clubman!

The first couple weeks are the hardest. As is the last week before it gets to the dealer. There's a lot of information in this forum about tracking your Mini once it starts heading across the ocean once ASK-MINI is pretty much useless.

I'm still waiting for mine to get to the dealer ... the waiting is SO hard

As I have cautioned in another thread, be careful with the tracking. It is horribly addictive, but sooooo much fun. Congrats on your order!

Anticipation for us started in 2003, the year of our first test drive. Various factors kept us from going for it for all this time.

Finally we ordered on January 24, took delivery last Saturday, March 15. Definitely worth the wait.

Of course, after six months of drought, we've had rainy weather today. Our lovely new car has been cooped up all day in the garage.

Congratulations. Enjoy the tracking and the wait!

Quesera, I can definitely relate. I have wanted a mini for the past 6 years, even before the test drive. I was supposed to get one at the end of this year as a graduation present, but my hubby surprised me and we ordered one for a Valentine's Day present.

You would think that after 6 years of yearning, what's another 2 months or so, right? This. Has. Been. The. Longest. Six. Weeks. Of. My. Life. And I have about 3 1/2 weeks to go.

Ivygirl702- I don't know what bed of roses I fell in, but I will have mine in the garage within 6 weeks of ordering her. I feel for those of you waiting for what seems like forever, it seems like forever to me and now that she's almost home--I know I don't have to describe it . Patience my dears, the wait will be worth it.

Tracking can be very addictive. Right after I ordered mine, I spent the next several nights / weeks keeping up with a thread that Tigwantstoplay created for her husbands new MCS.

If you have not read it, its good entertainment... It will help pass the time.

Rockridge -- Thanks for posting that thread, I only got through the first couple of pages [66 total!], but it is hilarious. And I can relate to the staying up late, refreshing the pages.

Enjoy your new MINI, enjoy the tracking and the fun of waiting.

I see others have pointed you to the tracking threads and joining up with your fellow MINI owners in the same week.

As always, post some pictures and enjoy NAM.
