Warm up my MINI in the morning?

2006 MCS. Should I let it idle in the morning...you know let it warm up?

My question is concerning the engine and if it needs to be warmed. I know when leaving it in the driveway running...it can get stolen..blah blah.

If I get in it, start it, should I drive away right away...slowly? or just sit in it and let it idle a few minutes? I remember reading something about the engine and how it should not just sit and idle.

Thanks,

Yup, start it up, fasten your seatbelt and then just go slowly. Better to warm up the car driving slowly rather than just letting it sit idle.

So 06 MCS should also be driven to warm...I just heard that about the 07+ Turbos, and how they should not be idling.

Thanks for the help.

your owner manual says NOT to let it idle. (only the engine gets warm, none of the other parts like the dif. or tranny will though...)
