question about 100,000 or more milage

I'm still in the process of finding the right one, or an affordable one, for me. Since I'll be stretching my budget to buy a new one and will be relying on "my mini" as my only transportation, I'm curious how these run with lots of miles. Other question, if I find a mini with a lot of miles on it, what should I be looking for? Lastly, how long can I expect a clutch to last? thanks for any input in advance

my '03 MC is running strong with 135k miles, oil changed at factory reccomended intervals.

When buying used, be wary of 02-04 MC transmissions (5spd Midlands) as they're pretty weak and expensive to replace out of warranty. The steering rack in 02-06 both MC and S are also wear items and expensive to replace out of warranty, and check to make sure the steering cooling fan (right by the oil drain plug) is functioning.

I've been fortunate with mine and haven't had any more issues so maybe someone else can chime in on other parts to take a look at.

As for the clutch, there is really no way to tell since everyone uses it differently and how you use it affects its life (aggressive driving and such). I'm still on my first and it seems to have some life left in it.

There are a fair number of parts that will fail as mileage gets way up there...

The power steering pump does not last forever. If it hasn't been changed yet, expect to have to change it.

The window motors also do not last forever.

Front control arm bushings wear out.

There are more things... Unless you find a really, really good deal on a high mileage car, it probably isn't worth it.

I have a 2006 mini with 5 speed getrag. 18000 miles only but I don't think I'll have any issues with the engine and transmission. If you are willing to deal with the other issues (ps pump, bushings, window) then go for it.
If i was in your shoes, I'll buy a mini with a lot of miles only if I have another car (daily driver) but I wouldn't hesistate and have a brand new mini as a daily driver.
Goodluck!
