MINI of Sterling - Financing

Hi - I'm new to the forum and am about to take delivery of my new Mini from Mini of Sterling. While I do have financing lined up, the sales person wanted to see if they could match or beat my current terms. Does anyone have experience with Sterling pushing their own financing on customers? If so, positive or negative experience?

I stated early on I was NOT interested in financing through the dealer, but figured it wouldn't hurt to see what they had to say. Thx.

I bought my car from MoS. When I ordered it I asked about rates and they quoted me something similar to what a local bank quoted. They were not pushy at all. We decided to pay cash and pay ourselves back each month. When I picked up the car there was no discussion of financing.

I would ask them for a quote on terms, but not feel bad at all about saying no because someone else had a better rate.

hokie86, you may get a better answer in the DCMM (DC Metro MINIs) forum. If you don't want to start a new one over there, you can ask one of the Admins/Mods to move it there for you.

As for your question, I have not used MoS's financing, but am using MINI's financing. I say if the terms are good, use MoS.

We just got our MINI from MoS. We had already lined up financing through my husband's credit union. Our MA asked us about the rate we were getting from them. We told him. He said, "Wow, that's a really good rate." And that was the end of the conversation, because it was a rate they knew they couldn't beat. No reindeer games, no pressure.

The only person at MOS who seemed to know what he was doing was the finance guy. We told him we arranged financing through are credit union and that was the end of it. Too bad we also had to deal with the MA and the SA.

i'm going through sterling and they told me the same...they could beat the rate my credit union was offering. I'll let it ride. No pressure from them. They will give me a call on monday with my option. I'm paying mostly cash for the car anyway and only financing a small amount...so interest won't be a major issue for me.
