All Aboard the PATRIOT! Southampton 11/09/07
Well the Patriot has gone back out to sea. Hopefully leaving us all Mini packages. It was a pleasant if not frustrating cruise...(wax poetic here)
So does anyone know how long the VDC should take?

I'm picking up in Charlotte, so I'm guessing it won't be very long from Greenville ... perhaps a couple days at the most ... assuming that they don't have to do any additions/mods/work at the VDC for all of us ...

Is the VPC in Greenville? It was my understanding that the VPC was at the port in Charleston.
Greer is a small town just outside of greenville & spartanburg ... between 'em actually ...
When you drive down I85 from Charlotte to Atlanta, you can see (what I think is) the BMW VDC and the production plant from the interstate ...

Quite possible. Looking at Google it looks like the edge of BMW property is I-85
I used to drive alot through that way but haven't in a long while ... I do recall a sign and building being visible from I-85 and a few times seeing cars out front (perhaps one of the BMW clubs gathering there or something).
I got this from an article on MINI2
There are three VPC’s used for MINIs arriving in the US: New York (actually New Jersey), Charleston SC, and a west coast facility in Oxnard CA adjacent to Port Hueneme. MINIs have been known to spend as little as several days up to more than 3 or 4 weeks or longer at the VPC before being shipped by truck to the dealer. What is a VPC like? Have a look at these informative external links: NEAT in New York and Port Hueneme in California (sorry nothing on the VPC in Charleston at this time).
I don't know if this is different than the port, but this is why I have always assumed that they shipped straight from the port to the dealer.
