Hello from FNG

Hello, I'm new here.
I don't have a Mini, but I'm in the market.
I drove a couple of used first generation Minis and a new 2007 recently. I preferred the suspension on the first gen cars, but preferred the motor and brakes on the 07. Do the 07s have different brakes?
A 2006 that I drove pulled to the left. It had only 10K miles. That brought me here for research. Now I'm wondering if the second generation cars might be worth it just to be free of worries about mushrooms.
Anyway, good to be here.

The '07 MCS has the first gen JCW brakes.

When I was researching my order my MA said that his '07 MCS with the Sport Suspension was about the equivalent of the standard suspension in his '03.

I was debating used vs new, but it was really no contest for me. The much more efficient engine in the '07s coupled with the lack of a substantial price decrease for a used model sold me on a new '07.

Thanks... for the feedback...
At this point I'm tempted to just wait and see if there are any changes for 2008.

I've had mine for three weeks and 2,000 miles. the 07s are vastly improved over the previous models for certain refinements but especially the engine, brakes and a bunch of interior issues. I also thought about used but found the used value to high to make it worth the difference. This particular site is an excellent resource. I just bought a set of 18 wheels today for 1/3 the price of new. Many mini owners seem to have a fetish for new wheels and there are always deals out there!
