Wow! Excellent catch, Wolfshiem! I was monitoring the Panama Canal cams yesterday but was a day too early.

Thanks Wolfsheim, great picture. I spent 6 hours cleaning out the garage yesterday to make room for the new arrival. Tell me again what is the absolute soonest we can get them home. Do you think they can unload in 1 day to meet their November quota? Just humor me. I need it!

So if I'm in Mountain View and expected to get my car on Dec. 2nd or 3rd...and you're in SoCal...it's gotta be before the end of November!!

I snagged a high resolution picture as the Fidelio was in the Miraflores locks. Pretty soon, it should be leaving Panama...next stop, California!

Check out Post #6. I found a write up of the Fidelio that includes a picture of it. Also, I have been tracking it using AISlive and it shows the ship name. As a result, one can track the ship by way of AIS and then see it through the webcams. Of course it *might* not be the Fidelio, but the chances are extremely slim.

AIS

Wolf,

Incredible again! I looked a few times but nothing, but I knew you'd find her.

BTW, I signed up for AIS and it only registers boats floating in Europe and UK. Not sure what I'm doing wrongly.

Thanks!

I had the same problem at first with the AISlive too, but I found this link and all was golden. By clicking on the edges of that map, you can work your way all around North America. I also found this link, but haven't tried it yet as it's only good for the USA. I might try it when the Fidelio approaches California.

When I asked Rasmussen on 13 November, they told me the ETA was 15 December (give or take a day). I think that's a little conservative, but I've been wrong before!

Figuring 20kts per hour. . . about 480-500 miles per day, Fidelio should be heading north along the Baja coast about now!

Put Down that turkey, Wolf!

http://aswec-fit.org/

Come on Wolf, Where are we? I can't get any tracking device to work on the Fidelio, although I know exactly the whereabouts of the Monarch of the Seas.

Hey Group 43-
If you're like me, and I know I am , , you like podcasts. I found a MINI Cooper podcast on iTunes. It's called whiteroofradio.com. One of the episodes had an interview with the guy in charge of quality control at the MINI plant in Oxford, it was great! I feel even better about our '07 MINIs! It's basically three very knowlegible guys talking about everything MINI (and a lot more).

I went to the LA Auto show yesterday and got to see the Clubman. It's cool and everything, but I like our MINIs better. It was, far, the most crowded pavillion at the show - and they weren't even giving anything away! (I was actually hoping that they would have some sort of MINI Owner's Lounge... )

The above link is a MINI insider link, kind of funny.

Just doing stuff to pass the time! Hope this helps!

Word on the message board is that Wolf's in-laws are Amish and he's spending Thanksgiving with them...

Slow down Super Dave!--these things take time! I checked AIS today and the Fidelio has yet to pop up...I am confident it will show up sometime Monday. Just in case I miss it, you should track it yourself here. Better yet, you should take a trip down to Port Hueneme and see if you can spot the unload!

If you liked the the Citizens for Fair Insect Treatment, you should also check this out.

I really need everything to be right on time, I sold my car and told the folks they could do pick-up next weekend -- I might just be carless for a few days

Do you know if the Nav Sytem installation will cause a delay at the VDC?

I don't know the answer to that but apparently things done at the VDC are cheaper than at the dealer according to my MA. Is this true? Mine's gonna be right next to yours Marg getting that Ipod thing installed. I'm calling my Ma first thing tomorrow and I'll ask him about any possible delay. I remember Wolfsheim saying they usually pad the days to cover themselves. Hopefully your MA is right on target. I can't believe we're almost there. I hope I can sleep tonight.

Perhaps edbear67 can make a trip over to the Port and oversee the process!

Did anyone follow the Fidelio's progress to Port Hueneme?--I spotted it off Baja California, but haven't followed it since then. I guess I dropped the ball, eh?
