Isolde to depart Southampton 10/22/07 arrive Port Hueneme 11/12/07
huh
hints only if we're interested??? oh hecks no!!
im playing haha no of course we would love to see those links. lately i feel really empty because all ive been thinking about is the mini. i just want to be at peace with the mini.
lol
Once she starts the trek to the first locks (Gatun) it can take from 7-10 hours for the entire canal passage, depending on traffic.

Sorry was out most of the day checking about delivery of the Spyder, will be gone tomorrow as well.
I'll try and get some links and things posted tonight for all. Yes, there are live web cams on the locks, so you can see her at those positions.
You, sir, better not get sick of guiding our MINIs through the trecherous waters when mine heads out on 11/12 or 11/19! I'm counting on getting the full Tharkun treatment!

Was at the Spyder dealer for over 6 hours today, going back over this morning at 9am, to help the tech un-crate/PDI our bike for a Saturday delivery. Been a busy few days.
CANAL TRACKING
Isolde is scheduled to arrive in port on 11/02 and depart the same day.
The link below is for the AIS maps of the canal area.
AIS PANAMA
The next port for Isolde is the Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT) located in Colon Panama. Usually WW ships are at the dock from a few hours to as long as
10-12, there is no way of knowing the exact time she will leave the port. The MIT site has info and under the "Media" tab there is a photo gallery of MIT.
MIT

Once leaving the port she will trek back out past the breakwaters to the Cristobal Anchorage area and anchor there for the night. Usually the WW
ships have an early morning passage slot for the locks, so she should be heading in for the Gatun Lock between 4 - 7 am on 11/03. (PST) Best guess at this time.
So if you want to see her make the canal trek and catch some cam pics in the locks, it takes a bit of time to keep checking the maps and stay updated to her movments.
All of the times, dates and such are just my "best" guess from watching previous WW ships, so take that into account.
As for the canal web cams, both of the lock cams change directions during the day, showing either the north or south bound traffic. When the Miraflores cam is showing the
Pedro Miguel lock it can me rather difficult to determine if your ship is in that lock. The link for the canal page is below, under the "MultiMedia" tab are the cams and also
a "How It Works" info on the canal system.

Just returned home and looks like Isolde is the first WW ship since June to make the canal trek at night and on the same day as arrival at MIT. If you check the AIS map and click towards the bottom of the map, it will advance the map thru the canal. It is usually lagged by about an hour (approx) and at the present she is on Gatun Lake. She could anchor for the night and make a morning passage, or continue on...I'm confused as this has not happened in the past. I need to crash and will not be able to track her I'm afraid.
yup ive been tracking her and she has made at all the way through!! This is great news, I'm really surprised that she was just at MIT this afternoon and now she is all the way through!! Maybe our arrival will be another day earlier!! Thanks for all the info! really appreciate it!! BTW since you are so well informed, do you know approx how long it should take to make it through the VDC W/ no accessories to install and arrive at an orange county dealer?

oh man just a few more weeks....
haha i see this whole waiting process like a 400 meter race...
the first 100 yards to me is like the building process, the 2nd 100 is the pond crossing, the 3rd 100 is the vdc, and the final stretch is just waiting for the dealers to receive.....

Hope your MA is correct, but be prepared for later than his estimate. Isolde is scheduled to arrive at Port Hueneme on the 11th. Your MA is only allowing 3 or 4 days to pass thru the VDC, be loaded on a transport vehicle, and trek the roughly 150 miles south to your dealer. Then your dealer will need to to the PDI.....perhaps he has an "in" at the VDC and can rush your Mini ahead of others.

..I don't think I'm getting anything installed at the VDC, but i could be wrong. After it passes through, does it usually get loaded onto a truck the next day?
From my understanding they have as long as 8 days to actually load it on one of their trucks.

Geez, that would suck :impatient...are most of the trucks covered just like the one in th picture? weird question i know
be really surprised you don't see your Mini arrive at your dealer within two weeks from it arriving at the VDC.
