Tires

I'm in need of a new set of rubber. Anyone have an idea what would be a good set of tires for the MINI S. I drive a lot of the twisties her in Monterey County, and San Bento, and San Los Obisbo counties. And I plan to do a few more track days.

If you know what you want there are lots of options. The tire rack ratings are pretty good for sorting it out. I personally think the MINI deserves dedicated summer and winter tires. Used stock wheels can be had pretty cheaply . . . and although there is some investment in owning two sets of tires it is a one time cost . . . after that both sets last twice as long.

Of course, I'm often on the edge of things. I've got three sets of wheels/tires: Summer performance and Commuting for the summer; winter performance tires for the winter.
