My Motoring Journey
In the last 4 years I have owned 3 different cars (including my new MINI). I love cars and always am reading and doing research even when I get a new one. I guess this is one of those hobbies that gets beneath your skin and... gets really expensive. Still, I started off with a 2004 Mazda3 2.3. Decent, competent motoring but not exciting in any way. Enough said. Later on, I traded that in for something much more interesting, a 2006 Mazda MX-5 Grand Touring. Only a few weeks ago, I have replaced that Mazda with a 2007 MINI Cooper S. I know I am not the only Miata convert, but Im there are those who think of replacing a RWD sports car with a FWD micro car is silly. But it really speaks to the quality of the MINI. The MINI handles better; the MINI is much faster in every circumstance; it is more practical, more comfortable, more luxurious, more efficient... and... cheaper!?!?! Hard to believe but when you minimalize the options like I did (only ordered the Premium Package), the MINI ends up being about 4,000 dollars cheaper than my old MX-5 (not counting for the inflation over the two years). Brilliant!
I would love to have some better pictures, but it has been so hot here (Arizona) that I have tried to stay indoors as much as possible. But, it gives you an idea of what's going on:
