Lounge Leather without Piano?
Lounge Leather without Piano?
Does anyone know if you can get Carbon Black Lounge Leather WITHOUT having to get Piano Black surfaces and Dark Grey color line?
Using the online configurator (is that a word?) it automatically adds them if you select Black Lounge Leather.
I kinda don't want Piano Black b/c I think it will scratch. Not to mention that this adds $400 onto an already over-priced option.
Alas, must have piping and "particularly elegant stitching".
I emailed MA and have yet to hear back.

I'm looking at getting the Lounge Leather, too! So this is one thing I can answer! According to the online configurator, it is possible to get Fluid Silver, English Oak and Brushed Alloy, instead of Piano black. The English Oak and Brushed Alloy are an extra $100, though. If you do some searches, there are several threads here that show pictures with other surfaces!
emtrey, I love that interior! If I went with BRG, I'd go with exactly those interior choices! It looks great!
"Scratches" on piano black are no more difficult to deal with than swirl marks on paint. Get any good plastic polish w/ a microfiber cloth and they fill right in. Deep scratches will be a problem so be careful.
I have to credit my MA with pointing out the cream line. BTW--It was on a PW car and he thought it was the nicest MINI interior he had seen. The PW/B car had the wood steering wheel and wood **** on the auto shifter. The wood wheel was to slippery for a "driver" but I would like to change out the shifter **** for wood if the cost is not prohibitive.
For those thinking about this setup with a dark color, one of my friends' opted for my exact interior setup after seeing mine. His MCS is DS/BK and looks smashing. The piping on the Carbon LL seats just jumps against the window glass.

Note that there is a pricing error on the website's configurator... if you get one of the full leather interiors (Punch, Gravity or Lounge), the color line is NO CHARGE. When the dealer orders the car it will go in at no charge (part of the price for the leather), not an extra $200 like the MINIUSA.com site shows.
As for interior trim, you need one of the "upgraded" trims. Piano Black comes as the default, but you can get silver, brushed alloy or oak instead, but there will still be a charge. It is not possible to get the no-charge Checkered trim with Lounge Leather.

I used my spray and soft cloth for cleaning my glasses on it. Piano black looked great. Cream line is awesome with it. extremely classy looking. It also is perfect with the white piping on the lounge leather. Altogether spectacular!
I think the upcharge for the trim options is $200. for all except the Eng Oak which is $300. The $200. colorline trim upcharge is included in the $1900. charge for the lounge leather.
The LL was mandatory for me as was the wood trim which reminded me of the Classic MInis I fell in love with in the 60s. The cream line just was the icing on the cake that pulled it all together, especially tying in the seat piping as mentioned above.
