Generally, the best you can do, is MSRP for a new Mini. You might find a dealer with new 2006's to get a deal on.

VERY safe car. Excellent crash test ratings, and nimble enough to AVOID accidents. In fact as you browse this forum, you'll find threads about owners whose Mini's have been in accidents, the owners have walked away from.

I'm 6'7", and have plenty of room. We don't carry passengers, so that's not an issue for my wife and I. That might be a plus for your folks!

I had the same concerns that you did. But I have to tell you that I feel safer in the MINI than my previous 4Runner. You can get out harm's way much easier.

You do have to be carefull that other drivers see you, in other words don't stay in their blind spot and use common sense when motoring.

I took my wife and my parents on a hour and half (4 of us) trip to Lake Conroe this past weekend w/o any discomfort. I'm 6-0 tall and my wife is 5'-7" with parents in the back.

Good luck with the decision.
By the way, I got my mini at $500.00 off MSRP since it was on the lot but I am one of the lucky ones.
